Well just started watching this. It's not as good as Remastered version. No swearing like the normal one so far just words like "You wanna try that on me fish face". The kid in the flying chair has got a stupid croaky voice but he's still cool. But not such a great voice as the normal one.

Loads of the quotes are much different so not as great as remastered one. Who's watched the original of you have what you think? I don't think it's that good so far. Butn haven't watched the whole thing yet. But this one is much longer then normal.

[edit] Damn. The movie is nearly 20 years old now. I feel old......

The only way to watch it is subtitled.

"Just when I was hitting the green line" (from memory, watched the dubbed once) In that bloke from Teenage mutant ninja tirtles voice makes me spit teeth.

I had the original dubbed version of Akira on VHS, then bought it again on DVD and the re-dubbed version, really annoyed me as I was used to the original dialogue. There does seem to be more swearing in the new version, just to be modern. However the remastered version does look fantastic.
