There has been a big speculation over the Sony prices for both the PS2 and their first console the PSone.

But if you are thinking of buying the PSone, to maybe replace your old PSX or maybe you want one and you dont own one, then about now would be good since the prices have dropped down now to around 50-55 pounds.

This could be because of upcoming new consoles from Nintendo and Microsoft that Sony want to shift as many Consoles as possible to make some money before everyone starts buying:

GameBoy Advance

GameCube

XBOX.

Or because of the Dreamcast price drop!

The £30 drop of the PS2 has been said to stay at that for the rest of the year and wont come down until maybe 2002!

The PSone drops a lot and the PS2 drops a little but still what comes up must eventually come down.

What do you think could this help Sony before the release of Nintendo's and Microsofts new console(s), or have they released their next-gen console far to early and will die out just as the Dreamcast did.

As progressive consumerism gets less and less during a consoles life of course the prices are gonna be lowered to try and entice people into buying it!

I think it would be a good idea for Sony to reduce to price now to £200 now so they can get much much more of the next gen Market share, So buy the time GC and X-box come around no-body will really want them.

But if they do that it could become so popular it might kill Sony through negative profits.

Yeah but if their console doesn't deliver the goods everybody is expecting then nobody will buy a sony machine again. They'll all feel let down.
