Looking for general advice from people on this. I spoke to Tyla about it, and he seems to like it a lot. I've got 1x DVI output and 1x VGA output on my 9800XT, and I've currently got a Hercules ProphetView 920Pro DVI connected to the DVI port.

First thing I'm wondering is, if I get myself another 17" TFT, is it gonna look awful because it won't be the same as my current one? There is a possibility I might be able to steal my bro's monitor (the non-DVI version of mine), but he's not keen.

My 6800 has one of each, but came with an adaptor so I could convert the VGA into a second DVI socket. Maybe you can find one of these?

I think he's more bothered about the monitors not actually looking the same.

Yeah, e.g. if they're at slightly different heights or one screen is a few mm taller than the other, etc.

It's not going to look asthetically as good as having two of the same monitor type side by side, but if you need additional screen real-estate then it's a good solution.

Whenever anyone mentions multiple monitors, I always think of this guy: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/images/flightsimulatorbig.jpg
