Damn right! Second hand controllers are pants because you never know whats happened to them. Just waste another £8 or whatever and you have a brand spanking new one
Whatever you do dont get second hand controllers. New ones maybe expensive but for games like Pro Evo whereby the D-pad wears a lot quicker they are better value for money than a second hand controller.
new ones are 14.99 from SR which is much cheaper than gamestation at 19.99. is that cheap enough? 2nd hand ones from GS are about the same as SR new ones, or maybe a bit cheaper by a bit.

Don't know to be honest, but you can usually get 2nd hand, unboxed Official pads fairly cheap.
