Any particular things I can do to my system to fix this? Or any drivers to download?

512MB RAM (soon to be upgraded to 1.5GB RAM)

Anyway, I just adjusted those settings. Cheers for that, here's a bit of hope *restarts computer*
Right click desktop > Properties > Settings tab > Advanced > Geforce tab > Performance and quality option > Image settings in the window > Drag the arrow to high performance.
Turn off virtical sync.
If you want a bit better performance in BF2 use the older 77.72 as they give a few extra FPS in general.

If I recall correctly, yes. Also, what brand is it?

Yep, did a full system restore anyway.

yeah, that was only one of my suggestions. Perhaps your computer doesn't like ill-gotten software or pirated episodes of 24 or something. A computer with morals - the end is nigh
