Arsène Wenger intends to sign a goalkeeper before the weekend.
The departures of Stuart Taylor to Aston Villa and Graham Stack on loan over the summer has left the Frenchman with only Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia as his recognised keepers.
On Sunday Wenger admitted that Uruguayan international Sebastian Viera was among his options. Speaking exclusively to Arsenal.com this afternoon, the Frenchman did not name names but he did reveal the deal would be concluded quickly and the new keeper would challenge the present incumbents for their spots in the first team squad.

22 year old Viera is currently first choice keeper for Uruguay and plays for a club in Sotuh America called Nacional. Hopefully he will be second choice ahead of Almunia at least as I can't see him dropping Lehmann this season unless he makes a major mistake.
You can probably imagine what his chant will sound like by now..

Finally a decent keeper? Hopefully, he looked good for Uruguay. I hope he does sign him.
He wears a cap all the time. Sounds like a quality buy to me.
According to The Sun Jenas is going to hand in a Transfer request in the morning whether or not it's true we'll find out then.
Arsene has said he is interested in Jenas although he hasn't made any approach yet unlike with Owen he has clearly said he doesn't want him.
