Let me make a simple analogy for you:
At the moment you are like a man with a novel in his head, lots of paper but no pen.
Software is software, it just tells the hardware what to do. You don't have any hardware for the software to control, so you're not going to be burning anything. you don't acutally have the equipment to burn a DVD. 1s and 0s on your harddrive isn't going to burn any DVDs on its own. You've got to buy a DVD writer drive.
