The worlds best forward! He had all the qualitys of a forward, Could header the ball like no one else, he had skill like Owen, Speed like Roberto Carlos (probably not as quick!) but it seems to me that no body knows he is!

Yep!! Scored an absolute blinder in the European Championships of '88 I believe!! One hell of a player, one of the finest from Holland since Cruyff!!
I remember watching Van Basten at AC Milan. That was a quality football team back then.
I suppose he isnt remembered or given the same attention as some other footballers becasue his injury that ended his career.
It was a shame because Van Basten and Jean Pierre Papin were a great partnership.
Anyone interested in football has heard of Van Basten. I remember him scoring an over-head kick at P S V and the goal in the 1988 Championships was awesome, But the teams he played in had 8 or 9 world class players and thats probably why as an Individual he wasn`t considered as good as others.(Maradonna,Cruyff and Pele).
Well when Van Basten was playing, it was the only time i have been interested in the Italian League.
