Hello. I was wondering if anyone can help with this. Whenever windows XP boots I get the dial up box. Can anyone suggest how I get rid of this? It is the default dial up thing but I do not need it anymore as I have broadband. Cheers

I could be msn messenger trying to dial-out when the computer starts. When you first download it it's set-up to open on start-up.

Go to the connection tab in you internet settings (via control panel or IE>Tools>Options)

Select the Never Dial a Connection option.
This assumes you are using a router for your broadband.

NB. If something is trying to access the internet as soon as Windows starts you 'may' have some malicious-ware or virus trying to call home.
Or it could just be a normal application checking for updates etc. Either way I would check to see what it is.

Never had the problem of a dial up box at startup. I know when I upgraded to broadband I went into 'internet options' and removed my wanadoo connection to stop the dial-up box appearing everytime I opened IE. Is this what you want? Just a warning, I couldn't work out how toget my browser to connect to AOL so I had to set up an AOL dial box to connect me to broadand on startup
