Got a letter from the Uni I dropped out of just after starting my final year, on Saturday. I've held back from opening it because I'm expecting a huge bill, and by not reading it the bill doesn't exist. Fact. So I open it up, and it's good news. Very good news. Apparently I had enough credits when I left to be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education! So I'm chuffed that I actually got something out of the Uni, and I can now back-up any future negotiation into a degree course. But what is a CHE? I've heard of it before, but does it carry any weight? It sounds like somewhere betwen A-Level and degree standard, or around HNC/HND, but it was the last thing I was expecting! Huzzah, I guess.

I did a foundation year because I had no A-levels (hey, I might have a Foundation Certificate in Science to pick up too!), and I left at the beginning of my third year on the actual course, so I was in my 4th year there.

BUT!!!

I had an arrangement with the Uni because of some mitigation, and I hadn't passed modules on the 1st semester of the 2nd year, despite getting all A's and B's on the 2nd semester of the 2nd year. So because I'm such a good boy they let me continue on condition I pass the modules after I'd finished the 3rd year...but then other things came up and I chose not to continue.

how many years of Uni did you do?

apparently it's equivalent to the first yr of a degree course.
