I just spotted, in an old scottish news article on their website, about last year's christmas single battle:

"The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins said: "If we get to number one that’s the job done for this year. I think people want to get behind a proper British rock band - not all that other s**** in the charts."

I like the Darkness in terms of music, but they are very cocky. The Brit Awards was a prime example:
