Introducing the new Alienware laptop...

How is it any different from the next desktop replacement? Well, for starters:

Dual Smart Bays; include a spare battery to run off or two optical drives. Which, by the way, is dual layer DVD-RW.

2GB Dual Channel RAM running at 533MHz? Why yes indeed.

Onto the main course:

nVidia Geforce 6800 Go with 256MB DDR2 RAM; the first PCI Express card, with 12 pipelines and benchmarks show its almost on par with the desktop equivalent and wipes the board with current mobile GFX cards. The bonus? Well, you can upgrade it, just like you can with an AGP card.

Dual HDD bays, and support for RAID? But of course.

And for dessert, don't forget the uber fast desktop Pentium 4 at 3.6GHz, built in camera and widescreen display.

All weighing in at under 6kg, for the princely sum of £2,414.62. Aaah...
