Well, Christmas this year was a good turn-out for me. New digital camera, new phone, CDs, DVDs, 200 quid - loads of stuff.

But, in terms of games, this year sucked.

I suppose in a way it's my own fault. I didn't really ask for anything in the gaming department, just hinted at a few titles such as Rallisport 2 and Ninja Gaiden. Ah well...

But my brother had an excellent turnout, so I award our GC the 'Most played console of Christmas 2005 in South Wales' or something...

First off, Donkey Konga. It is superb. My brother demanded he had another pair of Bongos so that I could play also, and what fun we had. I could feel the skin peeling off my hands and the bones cracking inside, but I didn't give a crap because this is the most fun I've had since my mates 'Red Bull, Halo and Internet Porn night' last year. Konga is a brilliant game, end of.

Next up, Metroid Zero Mission. It's good, but not amazing. Had a go on it and wasn't 'blown away' so to speak. The action is thick and fast, but I found you get stuck alot of times, and overall it just wasn't the game I expected it to be. Ah well...

And now we have Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. This surprised me. I hate golf, because I'm crap at it and I don't like it. But Mario Golf is different. It's fun, fun, fun all the way. Sure, the crappy power meter sucks compared to Tiger Woods swing system, but I don't care, because the crapp power meter suits crappy me fine. We were made for each other, I'm sure. And Mario Golf has served up some fine multiplayer action for me and my brother. Very good.

Also, my brother hauled in a copy of Zelda: Minish Cap which, it has to be said, is outstanding. Everything about it screams 'Zelda quality' in your face, and this is one title I am going to enjoy over the next month.

Sadly, Paper Mario 2 and Metroid Prime 2 didn't arrive, but hopefully, thanks to a couple of phonecalls, new copies will be sent in the post and arrive to us in time for the new year.

And that has been my Christmas in terms of gaming. If you don't have Konga, buy it, because it is disturbingly fun.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Donkey Konga isn't really that good when you own only a single set of bongos. The extra sets seem a bit over priced to me so I haven't bothered with a second set, and the one-player mode became quickly boring.

I found Mario Golf to be enjoyable in single player and multiplayer and I'd say that overall it is easily the better game. It is made a bit easy though because you can save a tournament at any point allowing you to retry a hole as many times as you want.

Yeah, I would imagine beating off your brothers instrument instead of your friends' would probably be less enjoyable event.

You went round your friends to drink red bull, look at each others Halo's and play internet porn?

That's pretty weird dude.
