No, don't report me to the games police just yet.
Sometimes I think, should I still be playing games at my age? Well, the thing is, yes!
You see, my generation was were it really started to kick off. We were the ones who had the first taste of what laid the foundations for the consoles of today.
The Nintendo Entertainment System, the Sega Master System. We played Sonic and Mario when the mere thought of Sony enjoying the success they do now would have been laughed off as being ridiculous.
The original GameBoy is now transformed into the Nintendo DS. And Sony have an amazing handheld console coming out too. Who would have thought?
I can't see my enjoyment of games ending though. I mean, why should it?! I don't have to listen to Radio 2 or drive a sensible car. And I'm not going to.
18 rated games weren't needed (or wanted) when I was young and yet the Grand Theft Auto series are now one of the most successful titles ever released.
So play. Play lots. And forget about thinking whether you should be doing it anymore.
In the meantime, I'll be waiting for my Nintendo DS and copy of Mario 64 DS to arrive. And yes I will be running to the door like a child when the postman comes....
:o)

Now you see I don't see this as the case. The GBA SP is only just being beaten by the PSP in JApan and it is outselling both the Gamecube and the X-box. It is also the biggest seller in America and that includes the DS.
The GBA SP will eventually be killed off during the DS/PSP war but not right away. Sales will start to dip and only when it reaches Christmas will we probably see the back of the console.
If the DS continues to do this well then when the GBA2 comes out I expect the DS to still go strong for a good year before the GBA2 finally kills it off.
If a "GBA 2" comes out, it'll replace the DS.
I reckon that touchscreen as a standard is here to stay.
Not sure about dual screens but it wouldn't surprise me.
If anything, the only proper improvements the GBA2 could bring is GC power games, and analogue stick/disc and perhaps a load of PSP style red herrings like MP3 playback and the like. :-)
