I came across this a few weeks ago in my local 'papar, and it seems one woman has found her own way of dealing with those ever-impatient white van-drivers (as a typical example), beeping and effing and blinding at you in occupance of your full rear-view mirror.

Sure, it is "just a sticker", but, as was said a few weeks ago in the 'paper, she has seen in-a-rush-to-nowhere drivers take notice of her back window and, instead, opt to (usually) overtake or shutup.

And, for those of you interested, I got my sticker this morning. :)

No, I don't have a single point on my license. I've only just had my full license for a full three-months - but, you see, that's part of the reason why I got one.

Like any other new driver on the roads, I don't want any points.
As harsh as the Goverment are, gaining 6 points within 2 years of passing your test means you have to re-apply for and re-take all those tests all over again! I don't want that. At 5 tests, it took me long enough to get it first-time around! The Goverment are just out there to screw us over ("Obviously!").

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it an automatic 3 points for an average speeding offence caught on camera? One mile-an-hour over, and you're halfway already there! All because, some A-hole's driving up your backside... (Until they change things, anyway)

I think it's quite a simple-yet-effective idea. I'll be interested to see how things work out, and how other drivers react to me now. I like to stick to the limit as it is (away from motorways...). I'll let you know...

Call it what you like, but, for only £2, it gives us "Little People" a platform for us in our little 'stand' against the Goverment. :I

(I think the known image of a speed-camera is enough to threaten any driver today.)

although saying that, E_B has a pretty nice set of wheels and he's only around 20 i believe.

oh, and "© Stick to the Limit 2004. Site designed by Bubble & Squeak"... i have to take issue over use of the word "designed"... it's kinda ugly.

Yeah but if they go into the back of me my insurance will go through the roof and I won't be able to drive. Even if I do nothing wrong.

Life's such a bittch

I dont even care, i dont give a damn if they have their knob up my exhaust pipe, i won't break the speed limit just because they couldnt leave earlier to get where they need to be on time.

Instead of being put under pressure now I like to see them going mental and then give them a wave when they overtake.

And here's me thinking EK was closer to Glasgow than Iwas, and hang on, it is, I can see it in both of them when I look over towards glasgow, albeit EK is off to the right, but I can still see both.

Hurm.

So, I first put the sticker on yesterday, went out for a short drive locally, and already, I noticed a difference in the cars following behind...

First thing I noticed, most seem to stick to a good "MILE" from my rear bumper. Now, I may have had a decaying skunk clinging onto his life or something else I was grossly unaware of, but I think they felt suspisciously put-off, with the possible idea I may have had a midget-man in blue hiding in back, armed with a speed-gun or something... :D

Still, there was ONE white-van-man who continued to push me up and over the hills. Yet, one-out-of-four/five isn't bad at all (some, as I would imagine, anyway, must have very poor eyesight...).

One thing it doesn't seem to stop, though, is a BMW.
Just because you drive one DOESN'T make you better than everyone else, mate! Now, if you were driving a Mercedes or Porsche, for example... ;D

Some of them flew past me 20-miles past the limit. But, there was this one on the way home, who wouldn't leave my bumper alone. He wanted to be in my rear-view mirror about as much as David Beckham loves to make the back - and front - pages! For Christ's sake, he even had his lights on! In pure daylight! Some of that "summer" weather that's finally come along too late.

So, before he impatiently shot along the WRONG side of the road to make a right-turn 100-yards-away in the jammed traffic, I was purposely slowing down to slow him down.

What is someone in their early 20s (judging by his shaven-head appearence) doing driving one of those anyway? Why? How?? (Rich git!)

So, yes. The sticker is doing a reasonable job for me, so far, I'm very pleased to say. I don't feel pressured into breaking the law (even though I overtook a tractor on double-whites...). :)

Yes, I heard about this a few weeks ago. But, I wonder how long it'll actually take before they bring this new system into place?

With each and every day that passes by, chances go begging. More drivers are caught speeding and punished under the current laws - just when it's all about to change. Now must be one of the worst times to get caught, as, knowing the Goverment, you won't be able to get any kind of 'money-back'; even if the laws are changed within the same hour. :P

Ortega: I can tell you, this sticker goes well on my escort when I'm missing the trim of one of my front-wheels...! :)
