Seen this?
A little media cart that slots into a GBA cart, which can store up to 1G of data.

Now, I don't care about the movie playback, because it'll be rubbish quality. But it can also take MP3s - and with 16 hours playback on the SP, and 20 on the DS, I must say I'm rather impressed.

Offical Nintendo as well.
Although I don't know if it's coming out outside Japan - but that wouldn't really matter anyway.

Yeh, Cubed3 were playing around with the DS they were sent and managed to get some message up about a "DS Option Pak".. so Nintendo obviously are planning some extra stuff.

That would be fab. Can't see it happening though. The GBA and DS slots seem to only work independently in that way.

ALTHOUGH if Feel the magic can detect a GBA cart to get unlockables then perhaps it is a possibility....

Mmmm.

20 hours of playback AND I get to play games?

I'm interested.

Now if they can make the music play WHILST I'm playing the games then it'll be fantastic.

SUPER CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS - yes please.

It's definitely a good idea. It's another reason why I didn't get the PSP though - it can do more than I need. If it was the same price, fair enough. But I'm not paying extra for something I don't need.

Got my phone to play movies and I've got an iPod for MP3's.

The DS is for games and nothing else for me.

Prefer it this way, now i can PAY for a games machine, and then people who want a multimedia can pay the "extra" for it. Be interesting to see how much it costs and if it does get released down here.

I wont be getting it thou :P

Yeh looks a rather good move by Nintendo. They can keep with their "all-gaming" roots for the DS but the opportunity is there for people to basically upgrade the multimedia part of the DS to compete with the PSP, if needs be.
