NFL is great. You just don't have a clue what's happening. Learn the rules: it's enjoyable when you know what's going on.

Football though? I watched some of the Live NFL on Sky yesterday...utter boredom. They would 'play' for about 5 seconds and then there'd be a 10 minute break.

Basketball's great though. :D

And so what? It's Tennis, hardly the most popular sport there and they host far more prestigious sporting events over there. American Football seasons starting and baseball season is close to playoffs. There's far more important sporting matters for them to care about then some average english man having a game of Tennis
