I know this sounds like crap, but I need to ask about something.. I have been thinking lately about exercising, so I thought I could start by performing push ups every morning, but I don't know the basic rules, so I need someone to tell me the rules, like the distance between my hands, whether my head is supposed to touch the ground or not,the position of my toes and legs, what is the minimum count for push ups, and what is the maxixmum after a month or so, how many times should I exercise daily, is there certain types of food that I should eat, and stuff like that...
I already know this sounds retarded so please no comments, just help me if you can....

i'd google it mate, you'll find more info specific to your age and shape.

Or you could go for a fitness assesment at a local gym, some do them pretty cheap and give you a good idea of what kinds of exercise to do.
