it says it has a 3.7 actual aplication performance
but it also says that its the equivilant of a 3.4ghz pentium
i thought the actual aplication peformance and the speed of an equivilant pentium were the same, its always benn that way with other amds,
if its a 3.7ghz cpu that what does the 3.4ghz number mean?

If it says 3700XP then consider it equivalent to a 3.7 GHz P4, which of course doesn't yet exist.
Ignore the 3.4 GHz bit. I coule be technical and tell you a bunch of things about pipeline length, cache memory etc, but bottom line is, for most things, especially games, 3700XP = 3.7 GHz P4. AMD processors just do a lot more per cycle hence the lower speeds.

That number actually denotes the number of brain cells you need to install the processor.
it meens the porforments that the old amd would give.
