Do what 'fix says and look at reader reviews and get a general feeling and make sure it's from reviews that actually make some sense, not crap like *OMG DIS GAME IS WKD MAN!!!!*

haha suppose but you get to watch all the trailers and that from there so its easy to judge for yourself. You also get a video review from the creators.
oh indeed, i always watch the trailers and gameplay movies from Gamespot but as far as using stuff to base my purchase choices on i'll usually read a few reviews, get a general overview of what the game is like and what it contains (i.e stuff like the battle system etc) and then i'll decide whether or not i'll want the game.
Usually though the gameplay movies make up my mind for me as it's pretty easy to see whether or not i'll enjoy the battle system

Some of the reviews on amazon.co.uk can be decent to.
yup, my usual ports of call are Gamespot, Gamefaqs and Amazon
