What do you think about the Los Angeles lakers losing Shaq and Gary Payton? Can they still make the playoffs? Let me know!

I didn't watch the Lakers before the final but Payton was poor in all the matches he played in.. although he got slightly better late on it was too little too late.

Payton isn't a big loss, he hardly did anything when he was on the team, just there to coast and let Kobe and Shaq do all the work and finally get a playoff ring (obviously he's given up on that dream with his move to Boston because if he thinks he's getting one there he's a bigger idiot then i gave him credit for)
However the Shaq trade is a big blow to the Lakers. He is still the most dominant player in the league and you don't trade him, especially for not who they got, had they got Wade in the trade then i'd have been somewhat appeased but the trade sucked really bad. It'd be like United trading Ruud for 3 division two players. However Kobe must be living in dream land now, he finally gets what he's always wanted, a team all to himself and never having to pass the ball and all the limelight to himself. This is the time all teams have to go through though in American sports, the transitional years, where they nurture through young talent and then hopefully become dominant again. I think they'll be lucky to get a 7th or 8th place in the playoff and then they'll get knocked out in the first round anyway.
