I've really gotten into digital photography recently, and I got a new camera about three weeks ago. I've been taking loads of photos, and just want a website to host them. I decided to buy a domain name.
This is where I get stuck.
Who do I register it with, how much does it cost and what is the bandwidth like?
Thanks.
Chipseh.
Just thought I'd drop that in since you're all chatting on our forums about the competition.

Oh, but they are.
They're not registered as Ukreg, they're registered as Fasthosts, the parent company.
If anyone knows how to explain it to the thick Vietnamese people who keep making stupid language sites then it would be greatly appreciated.
Huh?
But renewing my .com one cost the normal price...

After 2 years, it's £56 through Nominet, that's when it becomes expensive!
No catch.
Sounds too good to be true. I guess they must earn enough money through Google to be able to do that.
I'll do that this week then, cheers Phil.
Buy the name from ukreg.com or 123reg.co.uk, you choose. A .co.uk domain will cost about £6 for 2 years.
While buying it you will be asked if you want to change the nameservers to another host, change them to:
ns1.staghost.com
ns2.staghost.com
Once you done that just post here and I'll set your account up.
There's no real limit on space as long as you don't go mad and as much bandwidth as you want, for free.
No adverts either, just a couple of text links on the index page of your site like I've got.
