Windows Update Problem There are 3 replies

Just to make all aware -

Recent (9/07/08) Windows Security Update for XP is a 'cracker'.

Two machines running XP and using IE7 were updated at different times today.
Both had total internet access before update etc. Following update and restart, both machines had no access through IE7 and Outlook Express at all.
A system restore solved the problem and both are back to super quick access etc.
It would seem to be the following Security Updates for XP released today:

KB951376 and KB951748.

However on investigation, it may just be KB951748 that is the cause depending on how often updates are applied. KB951376 could have been released and installed last month - 10/06/08.

Thanks for the heads up.

From what I can tell it looks like this problem only affects you if you are running ZoneAlarm. I take it you were?

The update is to plug a DNS vulnerability.
