At 4:30pm every Thursday, we will be awarding a Gaming Award for a technical post - giving you another chance to win a free game (or a £30 Amazon voucher) each week!
Simply write up a (fairly) comprehensive guide or tutorial about how to do something technical and you will be in with a chance of winning. You can enter your submission at any time to be in with a chance of winning (not just on Thursdays).
If you submit after the deadline, then your submission will be considered in next weeks' competition.
If there are no submissions made, then the award will be donated to charity -- So get posting!!
Have a look at the previous (technical post) submissions to get an idea of what we're looking for.
Remember, you can win any game of your choice each week - submitting a technical post is one of the many ways to do so.

I think mine was way more technical lol - but seriousley nice post! I need to commit some more time into writing more detail and content, just short on time. I always try submit 2 things a week so i am in with a shot on winning. As it adds to the excistment of the work day (then the disappointment when you dont win hahaha!)

I don't even try and get all technical. I'm terrible at it, best way for me to get a GAD is reviews.

Thanks for your submissions guys.
The winner today is......................!!!!!!!!!!
cjh :)
Sorry Emmie, though your review is very useful and will probably be more along the lines of what visitors will need to know -- cjh's effort and attention to detail etc. is undeniably worth this weeks' GAD Award.
Congrats cjh!

Well, we also take in to account the relevance to Freeola visitors - so whilst writing a detailed article on 21st Century Biophysics or how to make your own MRI Scanner would be amazing... Things more related to websites, internet and Freeola Services would probably be more ideal :)

Um...but you didn't!
A post about improving your website cash
A post about dual booting.
However, I'm not complaining, Phuzzy's post was very good, just pointing out the flaw in your criteria.

Whilst we keep relevancy as a factor, effort will often need to play the biggest part.
It's a balance of relevance and effort. Get them both right and you're on for winning every week.
For the score, I didn't award this one :) But that's not to say I don't agree upon the winner. Also, I'm not saying you didn't put enough effort in either - only phuzzy put in an awful lot more.
Congrats phuzzy!

I know, just really trying to point out the same, that it's not just this criteria.
I don't mind as long as my post was helpful to someone then its done its job.

Definitely - as I play with the RC more and more I'll write up any features and cool stuff I come across.
I'm quite excited about HomeGroup (seamless media networking and sharing), as well as seeing how the 'Device Stage' concept will give the PC and it's peripherals the same feeling of integration that, say, iTunes has with iPod.

As a note to this as well, the second would count as relevant in my eyes. Although the relevance may not have been as high as other posts, anything computer based would still count. (Try using any of Freeola services without using a computer ;) )
Think of it as a marking system.
Marks:
Effort: */10
Relevance: */10
