Technical question - I have a DELL laptop that supports 2GB of RAM it used to run windows XP but I upgraded it to Vista home premium with service pack 1 - my question is can i now upgrade the RAM to say 3GB by mixing the RAM ? at present I have 2X1GB chips could I buy a 2GB chip and mix them, and would vista recognise this? any one tried this?

I've recently bought a new Vista laptop (also a Dell) and went for 3GB RAM (2+1) so you should be fine.
