Keegan's back managing Newcastle, cue scenes of very happy geordies. Any thoughts? I'm not sure how long he'll last, but like so many others (Even Bobby Robson) he could fall victim to some seriously high hopes.

I've given it a few weeks and despite early signs that things were looking better, they clearly aren't good now. In the first few games, they looked a lot better defensively. Maybe that was because they had a more 'aggressive' outlook to the game but they were drawing 0-0 a bit more.

Now, they look second rate at the back again and don't look like outscoring their opponents. Unless things change, Newcastle's position is only going to get worse. Newcastle have never really solved that defensive problem that they've had for years.

In my opinion, I thought Allardyce was doing okay with what was a pretty poor team and the obvious friction between him and Mike Ashley didn't help in any way.

I'm not as confident as the other Toon fans that this will work out. The transfer window means he cant just bring in players at any point, he's now stuck with what he's got, essentially some good attacking players but absolute s**t at the back, thanks to Allardyce. Keegan didnt do himself any favours by selling a defender of proven class to Lazio in the week either.
