Notts look like winning the league and I'm glad a local team for me look like taking the title - just a shame it's not Derbyshire!

Dude why drag up and respond to a dead thread?

Also don't be insulting to people here, you won't get very far.

A much better performance with Collingwood making 70 from 50 balls. The series looks back on again now.

England are very poor at the minute and can only really get better :(

Shocking stuff from England, really terrible. Nice win of the Twenty20, but that's the only high so far from this tour.

I think it's just a case of the selectors not sure how to fix things. Prior averaged 40 against Sri Lanka but I guess that isn't enough. We'll have to see how the new guys get on.

Australia 215 ahead with a day left, which is supposed to be interrupted by showers, on a pitch which is getting harder to bat on. Draw I'd think. The Aussies might add 100 fairly quickly but I don't think they can bowl them out in time.

The funny thing was watching Ponting go out to Harbhajan Singh again. 8 times out to Singh, 5 of them the first ball he faced from Singh.

Funny that should be the last post: Prior dropped! What do you (if anyone is still out there!) think about that?

Also looks like a great game between Australia and India at the moment! I didn't expect to see India get a first innings lead over Australia. Looks like it might fizzle out to be a draw now, but class performances from both sides.

That was disappointing despite the win overall.

Tests start soon! 20th is a warm up match I believe. I wonder if they go with Prior to be the wicket keeper.

And England end the way they started - with a crushing defeat. Still, it is a series win but I believe England stay 7th in the ODI rankings. They could have gone 4th if they had won.

England win a series in Sri Lanka for the first time. Pretty incredible seeing as England were doing a lot of scraping and clawing with the bat. Good performances with the ball has been the key.

England scrape a win after looking very dodgy after a good performance in the field and in the bowling attack.

Towards the end it was looking very close but we made it in the end to go 2-1 up.

It does seem that batting first is a huge advantage at Dambulla. Winning the toss is pretty much the match in that respect.

Well, that was nicely embarrassing for England. Decent start chasing down 270 with Mustard looking good but the wickets started tumbling as Cook watched on. Cook ended up going and only a brief stand from Bopara and Swann gave England some hope but they were all skittled out for 150 in total, a defeat of 119.

Good England vs. Sri Lanka warm up game, obviously more so for England!

England put in a great batting performance, with very little failure. Clearly Bell's 131 not out is a fantastic highlight, but all the others had good knocks too, with Cook getting a solid 66 and Pietersen tallying up a quick 50 from 29 balls.

The bowling too was fairly neat. Wickets were evenly spread between the bowlers. A top performance from Anderson who took 3 wickets for 43 runs. I think the best bowling attacks came from Collingwood, Broad and Sidebottom however, with all three taking 2 wickets each with a quality economy accompanying them.

I hope they can repeat such batting and bowling throughout the entire ODI series, which recently has been the game format they have struggled with the most. Although Murali maybe back after the first 3 ODIs. Either way though it should be an engaging series! Looking forward to it!

I thought Pakistan were out of it when they needed 59 from 30 as they were struggling for boundries and losing wickets constantly. What a finish though! Pakistan got it down to 6 from 4 with 1 wicket left and gets out.

Fantastic tournament. Way better than the borefest that was the 50 over World Cup a few months ago.

Congratulations India for winning the first Twenty20 World Cup!

India have only made 157, which isn't a great total. Pakistan will fancy chasing that down.

Interesting day of cricket. Lancashire were trying to chase 489 in the final innings. If they got it, they would win the County Championship and with only 5 overs left in the day, they were bowled out 25 runs short.

Pakistan and India play each other in the final of the Twenty20 World Cup. Nice to see a team other than Australia win something. :)

And England are out. Not a surprise really. They've only beaten Zimbabwe in the whole tournament so far.

Really disappointing in the end, those dropped catches really cost England in my opinion. The batting seemed too rushed too.

A good fielding performance by England, except from the numerous dropped catches that could have restricted SA to a much lower total. And disaster strikes straight away with Wright removed for a duck. Then Pietersen run out after colliding with a SA player and then the third blow for England: Collingwood gone for a golden duck. Shah and Prior need to produce something special now. 27-3.

Only the West Indies going out was the shock of the group phase but Bangladesh are a good side anyway. Super 8's tomorrow.

West Indies lose their game to Bangladesh and that's them out. England beat Zimbabwe by 50 runs and looked pretty good.

Wow, Zimbabwe beat Australia by 5 wickets. Australia made a low total but it was still a difficult chase with rain and all sorts going on.

New Zealand walking all over Kenya in their match. Kenya made the lowest Twenty20 total of 73, with 6 players not bothering the scorers. New Zealand barely broke a sweat with the bat, easily getting the total in less than 8 overs.

Scotland doing well. They restricted Pakistan to 171-9 and will have a chance if they can start well.

And Scotland go on to lose. A decent start but a seemingly never ending stream of catches led to Scotland getting nowhere near the target. 120 all out with 1 ball left.

Well, that was some start to the Twenty20 World Cup. Gayle makes 117 from 57 balls and the West Indies make 205-6. West Indies go on to lose after giving up lots of extras.

England win the series with a good display. They bowled India out for less than 200 and it was an easy chase, despite losing the openers for very little.

Well done Bopara and Broad for finishing the job off. When Cook went in the 1st over, I had a feeling it would need a stand like that to get England over the line.

A good performance by England. 281 was a decent total and India were always chasing the rate. England lead the 7 game series 2-1 now and they are certainly playing better than they did in the World Cup.

Tremlett was pretty expensive and I can't see any justification for dropping Panesar. A big target for England to chase and it really was a valiant attempt but they lost wickets at key moments making it very difficult.

Awesome performance, Cook answered some questions about his place in the ODI side perfectly. Flintoff was awesome bar a few no balls and the fielding was at a high standard. I wonder if England can get past their recent ODI troubles. :)

Great performance from England all round. They probably should have scored more with the bat but Bell and Cook made great centuries.

They were also good with the ball with Anderson taking wickets and Flintoff economical.

England have an outside chance of winning it. 444 required in a day is possible but unlikely. England really need to just hang on and get the draw really as that should be the most likely outcome.
