My first post in a while in this thread and Forest are poor at the minute, at least Derby are as well!

Was pleased with the draw against Charlton but I expected us to be doing a bit better than we are.

We seem to start slowly and pick up so hopefully we'll start to get a few more points before
xmas.

I missed that, although last night ITV had comprehensive highlights, after I'd already gone to the trouble of uploading the goals on youtube (over 10,000 hits by the way).

Well City did get one player at least!

As a spurs fan i am glad he went to United. I want to se him play a better standard of football to bring his full potential out. Fergurson won't take his moods and get him in his place.

Look forward to seeing how he adapts.

This has been a mystery for a while but seeing as Sunderland have supposedly just bought Anton Ferdinand for 8mil now is a good time to ask.
Where the hell did Sunderland get all this money? They promoted last season and spent 9 million on a keeper, 9 MILLION! Plus another 40 on players and it's continued this season. They're an overperforming Championship side, how can they afford this?

Hello I'm Pixie (magical rather than stupid*.) I only got here a couple of days ago and would like to introduce this soccer thread to my team of three generations, Manchester City F.C.
We really hoped for a  European place last season but it never happened unfortunately. Sven was dismissed during his premier season with the club, much to the consternation of many of the supporters.  I myself have decided not to renew my season ticket this time  because getting to and from the
stadium means SIX buses and a long long wait after the game for the first bus back into Manchester centre.  We are  optimistic
in a cautious way that Mark Hughes can get us back amongst the leaders once again and on towards glory. Thaksin Shinawatra has proved his belief in the potential of this most eloquent of clubs and the fan base is definately  there.
In the meantime I shall  be playing as them on my X box
and doing what I can there!

* I do have me moments though I must admit.

Congrats Vampyr.

Also would like to congratulate the forset fans on here.  Looks like I'll have to wait a while before I get a chance to visit there again.

Anybody supporting any teams i the Championship play-offs, good luck and I hope you beat Bristol City :P

Gas got beaten by Swindon 1-0 last night.  Hate that team more than City...

Least we had some entertainment fro their striker getting booked for over-celebrating, knocking over the corner flag and running off, only to have to face the might of The Bass Terrace when the ref told him to pick it back up in front of us all.

2 games left...will we ever score a goal?

Smeds? Cong man?  Where are you - thought you'd be gloating!
But then again, I guess you are still at the game (and it's before half time).

Sounded like a good free kick though!

EDIT: YAY! Excellent equaliser :)

I underestimated West Brom.  Do think they'll win even against Portsmouth.

But happy that the GAs made it to the Quarter finals for the first time in 50 years.

5-1 hammering at home on TV against West Brom.  The only thing was, they just had better forwards than us.  Phillips had a bad game and yet aain Andy Williams did nothing.

My joke about David Blaine's stunt of being in a box for 44 days was all in vain.  Andy Williams has nearly doubled that playing up front for Rovers.

Another shock in the FA Cup Cardiff beating Middlesborough at the Riverside.

Only 1 premiership team in the semi's, would love to see a final of non premiership teams.

Forest are slipping badly 1 point from 6 and really should have been 6 or at least 4.

Automatic spot is getting away from us and the play offs seem to be bad for us, really don't want another season in the third tier.

Lost 1-0 against Doncaster.  Their goal was good, but I've found a ref worse than Graham poll and Rob Styles combined! Clive Penton!  Lets just say...if I wanted to pay £17 for a show ran by 4 clowns, I would have gone to a circus, not a football game.  In my mind to write to the FA demanding a refund...

Drew against Tranmere on Saturday, although they came with the intent of violence, which the ref instantly saw through.

Off to Millwall for my daytrip this Saturday.  Hopefully a win will catapult us up the table.

17th with about 4 games in hand.  Win all those, we'll comfortably be sitting in a play-off position.

But quarter finals of the FA Cup... One more win to get to Wembley... I think it's a tall order, but still its West Brom and its on our pitch!

The gas playing southampton is on BBC on the 16th.

Nice win on Saturday and last night to keep our now 11 games unbeaten run still unbeaten!

Because the Premiership teams, in very simple terms, have more fans. More fans = more viewers.

5th Round!

1-0 win away at Barnet means the Gas are in the fifth round. Isaid at the start of the season that Rovers will go to Wembley this year.  Judging by our current league position, the Gas may make the final...  If we're lucky.

Still think I will be eating my words at the end of the next game.  But roll on the draw...

Fulham was on and the Gas won on penalties.  Absolutely packed and couldn't get to my usual spot for all the glory supporters :p

Seriously, after last night, you can see why Fulham are in the position they are.  Shocking side (probably the worst team I've seen all season - including non-league Rushden whom the gas beat 5-1).  They had about 6 one-on-ones with the keeper, central penalty box and they still shot it well over or so wide it went for a throw in.

Quite interesting singing "that's why your going down" to a premiership club though.

Jimmy Bullard was their star player and still a comical character out there.

So looks like the Gas's game against Forest is to be rescheduled then?

1-1 draw with Walsall on Saturday.  If we had luck on our side it would have been a massacre against Wallsall.

Literally they had one chance and scored (came from the bad pitch where it was at full speed towards the touchline, the ball stopped as if an invisibl player had stopedit, and their player got a cross in and scored it).

Everytime the ball should have stuck it didn't and when it should have rolled it stuck, which caused us no end of grief.  Several balls cleared off the line and some scrambles in their penalty rea which their keeper some how saved.

Walsall were a brilliant side, but the Gas should have beat them.

Fingers crossed the game against Fulham will be on tomorrow... pitch looked bad on Saturday, had the rugby on it yesterday and rain (still) forecast for the rest of the week.

Four tickets bought in advance this season and four times the match I've bought them for have been postponed.

I've nearly a season ticket of games still waiting to be used in my wallet :(

FA cup replay against Fulham tomorrow.  If we win, we may have to play Swindon again... which would be interesting as last game we had 4 red cards between us, a dodgy penalty and the riots in the street (what an away game to go to hey?).  ref ruined that game.

3 wins on the bounce in the league... We are going to have a bit of a League 1 comeback!
