Yes, true believers, forget Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity and all those turgid shows, the true king of reality TV is back soon.

Sci-fi is holding auditions for season 2 of Who Wants To Be A Superhero and the show starts in the US on July 26th.  Expect the UK Sci-fi channel to pick it up pretty soon after.

The first series was a fantastic piece of reality TV.  Grown men and women queued for hours to audition to be superheros, and ten were chosen.  Proving themselves as 'true superheroes' in front of host, Stan Lee, they were eliminated one by one until one was chosen. The chosen one becomes an official Marvel Superhero and even gets a film.

I auditioned when they were up in Hull but they said my codpiece would guarantee an M-rating and give Stan a heart attack, so I didn't get through to the televised round :(

I got my own back by flying up to 3000ft and urinating over the city.

Pretty much the latter.  But these guys (and gals) are serious about it, they REALLY want to be superheroes.
