I've seen some adverts for the second series of this, which look pretty good. But I never saw the first series. Is it worth me digging into? |

Noooooooooo! They've changed the music on the DVD boxset. Completely ruined the most important scene of Series 1. Click Here I'm taking it back.

She's hardly her brother and basing the programme around a character who barely speaks would be utter stupidity, so yeah, she probably will be the main lead.

Well I reckon Effy will be a major character in the new series by the ending of the episode. Otherwise that would just have no relevance.

It didnt quite do it for me. Too many loose endings that the hopefully hinted at christmas special will rectify.
Having said that, on the whole it's still been absolute quality. I purposefully ignored the first 3 episodes when it started because i was expecting the normal Hollyoaks s**t but it's well written and for the most part, extremely well acted. I cant see how they're going to replace this cast.

I'm genuinely sad about this season finale, it's left me feeling a little empty inside, knowing that we might never see Tony, Sid, Cassie etc. ever again.
Plus the general sombre tone of the entire episode, has left me feeling a tad low :(

Yeha its a shame but there is really no other way of doing it unless they did a character a week episode at their new Universities which may of worked but the whole good thing about skins is the way all the characters bounce off each other and have pasts which you want to see them rectify.

What else would you have them do? They're all going to separate Universities.

Yeha I must of misread about the finale. Does set it up well. Can't believe they killed Chris *Weeps into a hankercheif*
I think the first series was better, and I know the third will be worse than both of them.
What you think?

Well that was a pretty good episode for the first 40 minutes and crap for the next 15 but at least it's now setup properly for a fantastic last episode. I simply cannot believe they're sacking this entire cast, it's just gross stupidity.

Finale is next week, then they're sacking the entire cast and starting again :(

Maybe not quite as good but it's had a very different tone to it compared to series 1. What it has done though, it's done pretty well.

Skins to me has become a regular Monday night activity, I was extremely annoyed that my playing of Guitar Hero on the Wii on Monday forced me to miss the latest episode.
I heard alot about the first series but never paid enough attention to actually catch an episode. After seeing the trailers for the 2nd series, I thought i'd take the chance to watch the whole first series in one go so I could start watching series 2 a fresh. Im glad I did.
Even though the acting of some of the characters is a bit drab on the whole they do portray the youths of today very well. Best character has got to be Cassie, just for her sheer dopiness and idiocy, but at the same time I dont think that she is as stupid as she acts.
Just a good mix of characters and the way the make you go from hating a character like Tony to liking him in a few episodes is good writig on Harry Enfields part and the vice versa way he makes you dislike Sid a bit more shows this aswell.
On the whole if you havent seen skins already you should definitely sit down with a few beers and a clear impression fo what to expect and take it for what it is, a modern day dramatical comedy which brings to light some issues that modern day people think are right when morally they are wrong.

My habitual missing of Monday night Skins will be enforced this week as Land of the Dead is on ITV, naturally at the same time as both the E4 and E4+1 repeat. I think this is the 9th episode this series and i've missed every single one of them.
Oh dear, this is not going to go down well.

That was easily the best episode this series. Effy as a wannabe sociopath is fun but obviously there's more to her.
I think someone has been stealing characters from my life. Take away the posh accent, add a lisp and Pandora is an exact copy of my friend Katie, look, hair, dress sense and mannerisms as well. Not only that but the art teacher is remarkably similar to my secondary school music teacher, except she was a mad dutch woman.

Haha, the girl I knew that was on skins has asked me out for birthday drinks on the 4th April.
we're enjoying the banter as she said some really silly things whilst we woked together...and I won't let her forget them.

Watch it online first.
Is next weeks another Tony episode? I'd rather see the continuation of Cassie's breakdown. Its interesting to see just how crazy she is.
Apparently there's a Posh Kenneth episode coming up. I'm looking forward to that.

Wished I started watching it. It's filmed nearby so why I don't watch it I don't know.
In my brief stint at Allianz, one of the other trainees isactually a frequent extra on the show and even featured in the ad campaign posters (the one with the girl on her knees on a bed, my friend is the one to the left with her head on the bed).
May risk buying the first season boxset to see if it's something I'm into
