Sorry for stealing your thread Geffdof. Blimey it's been so long since the end of the last series, I can hardly remember what happened.

Anyway here's the article, I'll comment on the new episode when it's shown. Till then here's an interesting article. :)

Apparently the Nadia they were reffering to was Sayid's wife.

As for The Christian funeral fiasco, I don't remember reading it was 2009. In fact, wouldn't that make it really difficult for the writers, because Jack still needed to get back, meaning he'd spent around 4 years off of the Island? (Heh, maybe they're trying to pull the numbers back in).

Now i've just watched last nights episode and Nadia was no-where to be seen.

That is true although i cant remember who the rescuers were and its not been explained how yet.

No it wasn't. The timeline is entirely different and Christians funeral was way before that point.
Going back to the end of Series 3, the flash-forward was supposedly set years after they'd got off the island. You need to remember that they crashed in 2004 and got off the island around 4 months later. Kate, the baby and everything else is set in 2005, while the flash-forward was dated 2009 (according to the paper Jack was reading when he went to see that coffin)

To add a quick synopsis:

Part one, the face-off between the survivors and the freighter people begins, guest characters include Rose, Frank Lapidus, Keamy, Omar, Nadia, Mr and Mrs Paik, Carmen and David Reyes, Margo Shephard and the Funeral Director from the season 3 finale.

In this episode, we find out who the funeral was for (this will really get you theorists going :P)

For those of you in need of a bit of a spoiler, read on...

**It turns out that Nadia might not be dead after all, according to Pop Candy, Nadia, Kate, Hurley and Sayid all meet outside a church and talk in a group.

**There's going to be a big scene involving the rescue operation, however, the Freighter people are NOT the ones that do the rescuing. source: Lost Spoilers

First episode of Series 4, freaky-eyed-guy tried to get information out of Hurley.

OK my questions:

How do you know it was smokey and not Christian?

Where have we see the guy with Locke before? You mentioned Hurley?

I'm assuming they're not because of the freaky-eyed-guy trying to bully Hurley into telling him where the island is.
As for Alpert, well the guy doesn't age which is confusing. You'd have thought John would remember him if he met him as a child. I didnt get their meeting when John was young.

> I dont get the Christian in the cabin thing at all.

Well it wasn't Christian, it was Smokey. Christian is Claire's dad though and that was the only way it could lure Claire away from Aaron.

Thats what i'd like to know. I get the feeling he's not on the same side as Alpert and both have been trying to recruit John since birth. He's a Widmore employee, if you remember he was trying to get Hurley to tell him where the island is.

100% Agreement from me. After the brilliance of last weeks episode, now poorly titled "The Shape of Things to Come", I was expecting at least something in the next one.

What do we get? The answer as to how Jack starts his drug addiction. Woo.

Everyone knows that Jack is the most unloved character on Lost, and we'd all of loved to see him get shot rather than Rousseau. It must be different in America, because the writers of Lost just keep trying to add to him and make him seem more appealing.

I suppose the Hurley bit was good, but again, this was ruined by Jack's character and personaility, and of course, his attempt at being an emotional robot.

Still, Kate in her undies was worth the download :P

Moriarty, as in criminal mastermind, genius and the guy who killed Sherlock Holmes.
I can only assume Widmore's claim to the island is an inherited one. I'm guessing he lost the ship because everyone on board who was working for him died.
I dont think Ben can summon the monster as much as just let it go. Widmore's crew probably released it in some way by turning off the barrier.

What a brilliant episode.

I agree with Nin when he says it's the best in a long time, and also with Geffdof, I nearly cheered when Smokey appeared.

Right, with that said, analysis time.

When we first see ben in his flash forward, notice the gash to his arm for one thing. But far more peculiar was the fashion in the way Ben awoke, he was physically shaking, he woke gasping for air and very oddly it looks as though he was smoking slightly. (though this could simply be dust/sand from the desert). What's more, I think it is highly important to notice, there is no trail from Ben.

From this, I think we can deduce that Ben arrived at his destination in a manner far from what we can understand right now, even the camel riders that come up to say "How did he get here? Did he fall out of the sky?"

Further, Ben is wearing a Dharma Parka with the name Halliwax and a Dharma Logo. Halliwax is an alias of Dr. Marvin Candle from the Orchid Video. But why is he wearing this in the middle of desert, I mean sure, at night when it's cold, but when Ben awakes, it seems to be coming to mid day by the size of the shadows we see. This of course further supports a teleportation theory.

I tried to examine the logo of the jacket, but all I can make out of it are near concentric circles and what appears to be a bird of some sort? So is this the logo for The Orchid? Maybe The Orchid is a teleportation system?

Next we come to the part where he is at the hotel, he still has that bandage on his arm, so it can't be long since he met the camel riders. The hotel is prepared, or at least ready to accept Ben, under the name of Mr. Morriartus (sp?). Also, Ben had his passport on him, all this couple with what we saw when he first entered his flashforward leads me to believe that his "arrival" in the Desert was at least planned.

Perhaps Jacob took him there, and that's why he looked so discomforted? Some sort of teleportation? Or maybe something far more simple, maybe he was taken there by Dharma and was simply knocked unconcious? But if this is true, how come there were no trails?

Anyway. Next interesting thing, Ben tells Locke that he needs him, Locke, to survive. Later, when Locke questions this, Ben responds that the only person that can help them now, is Jacob. And that they have to go together, which brings us nicely back to the issue Jacob has with Locke. Another mystery I'm looking forward to seeing more on.

We next find ourselves coming to realise why Sayid has started working for Ben, because of the murder of his wife. Sayid actually gives us a timeframe here, which is useful, he said he's been searching for 8 years for the woman he loves. Why only 8 years? And does Shannon fit into this at all?

The next thing I want to talk about is the hatch we see Ben open in the house, a secret room in a secret room it seems. I think the most important thing to notice here is the fashion in what this hatch looks like. It's completely made of stone and full of inscriptions on it.

A closer look to these inscriptions shows a very clear resembelnce to the kind of markings we saw on the countdown timer in The Swan. They no doubt mean something, but sadly, I couldn't tell you what, when he opens the door, there is a light coming from the inside. When Ben returns from this room, he is covered in soot, and has apparently summoned The Monster at his will.

Right, I'm tired now, so lastly we have:

Why did they lie about the Morse code? And what the hell is that Doctor thing about? Is it more than simply a time dialation we're seeing? How is it communications seem to be unaffected?

Ben see Mr. Widmore, Widmore claims the Island has always been his. Which I agree on, seeing as with that evidence with The Black Rock etc.

Ben here claims he'll never find the Island, so something must've happened to the ship, and I'm betting it's a doosey.

Plus we have more reoccuring themes, life and death with Ben's daughter, we see the numbers back in force with the code being 1623, the dice rolls all adding to some of the numbers etc.

Sorry for the rushed ending :D

My monitor is terrible, I can barely see anything when its pitch black. I wonder if it killed them all. It's hard to imagine this is the same creature that took the form of all those people and killed our dear beloved Ekho.

So we're off to see Jacob again. It's so long ago I can't remember that happened last time. Hangon I'll go look for the scene on youtube. Okay it's pitch black and lots of shouting from Ben and things getting smashed. Apparently you can see his eyes and head though.

Is Jacob the human forms the smoke monster takes?

Oh and I forgot to say in my earlier post. It looks like it wasn't a good thing that they stopped Ben from gassing the Island.

Double oh! Why are Locke and Ben so trusting with the asian guy. He's one of them isn't he? I mean it's a possiblity that he's still working for them right?

She was hot :) but I guess her death was needed for the plot to become interesting. Ben kept going on about a deal with Charles. Maybe he thought he would stick to it and wouldn't dare kill his daughter. Thats why Ben kinda freaked out and went and got Lostzilla which I'm guessing was his backup plan.

But yeah I'm guessing he's really regretting it now, he should have done something but he seems more vulnerable now. He's lost his family.

The thing is though, Penny is trying to get Desmond who's on the island. Is she working with her dad or not? I'm guessing she has absolutely no idea what her father is up to.

Well i didnt want to spoil anything.
I know Ben is stubborn and determined but i didnt expect he'd sacrifice his own daughter for the cause. Right up until he went up to her i was still expecting him to pull something out of his hat, like she'd been shot with a tranqulizer or something and it was a staged part of his plan, but nope. He just stood their and watched them kill his daughter. Shame too because she was damn hot!

Aww come on Nin is that all you can say? :) It was indeed a very good episode and a brilliant start to the second half.

It looks like you guys were all wrong, it wasn't Ben's group at all, it was the new "Others" that killed them. And boy do they mean business, they killed 3 survivors. "whats that noise?" *bang* "what the hell?" *bang* "why are you two sleeping?" *bang*

So it looks like these are the real bad guys and Ben's group are still bad, just not as ruthless.

So what's going on with the Doctor? He was fine on the boat last time we saw him right? Then he turns up dead with a slit throat. Why did they say he was alright then? Is there a time difference between the island and the boat?

Why was Ben in the desert and why did he ask what year it was? It looks like he's lost his island. Or is it Charles island? Maybe he lost it to the dharma group. Wow thats a name I havent used for a long long time. They must still be around if they're dropping supplies, why arent they coming back to check on the island?

So now we know why Sayid decided to work with Ben. From his grin it looks like he planned it this way all along. I wonder if that guy really did kill Sayids wife.

I'm sure you've all heard by now but Lost wont be back on Sky till next week now instead of this. It's due to there being one more episode than planned this run and instead of having a weeks gap before the finale (Like the Yanks) Sky have chosen to push the start back a week for a continuous run-in.

Not likely to effect those that download and watch the American show, except to put you guys 10 days ahead of us who are patient enough to watch it on TV!

Its Jim Robinson isnt it? Ramsey is the name of the street. He's in the OC and 24 as well as Ugly Betty and Lost. He plays a rich and powerful business man (or vice president, but still powerful, in 24) who cares for nobody but himself. He's the same character in everything!!

lol Showing your age there! The actor who plays Charles Whitmore used to play Jim in Aussie soap Neighbours. I'm also informed by 'her indoors' that he is in Ugly Betty also.

I'm still not sure who put the plane down there, Ben and the Others claim it was Whitmore, the people from the boat claim it was Ben. What about the black fella who recruited Naomi and pestered Hurley in the future? One of Whitmore's or some else entirely? April 27th seems to far off right now...

I doubt that. Ben most likely arranged for them to be picked up and changed their names so they didnt gain any publicity.

Well he drove at high speed into a shipping crater and escaped unharmed, he also tried to shoot himself 2 or 3 times. Its safe to assume he's not able to kill himself.

No suprise, he wasn't known as Big Gay Tom for no reason. He got back on the submarine before John destroyed it.

Of course not. He'll manipulate Michael until he's of no further use.

No thats probably true. It's Jim Ramsey who is responsible for the fake plane.
