6 Days, 7 Hours and 30 Minutes to go.

Who's planning to get it? Have you pre-ordered it? From who? Are there any shops opening at midnight near you? Oh and which one, kids or adult cover?

I've still yet to order it. I might do what I did last time and just pop into Tescos and get a copy. I didnt plan to, I just saw it there and it was pretty cheap considering what other shops were charging. With the postal strike I'd be a little concerned about pre-odering it.

My ex introduced me to Harry Potter. She really enjoyed it and suggested I read them, which I finally did. I must say I really did enjoy them straight away. They seemed to get better with each book and I was one of those people who would stay up till 5am, just because I couldnt put them down.

I'm sure I'll do that with the 7th book. I'm also a little worried about having it spoilt for me, because it's the last book and there are some right gits who'd love to spoilt it for everyone. (I wouldnt be suprised if someone spammed the forum with threads, I'm sure we had one last time)

So umm yeah, Harry Potter 7, can't wait. Would like to watch the movie that just came out too.

Well, I lost interest quite some time ago. Not sure why, just didn't seem to really float my boat, so if the "Ending" I heard about is really true, I won't at all be upset! :)

LOL I'm just reading about the price war now.

Woolworths dropped the price to £6.99 but you have to spend £10 in store.

ASDA wasnt having that so they're now selling it for £5.

Not to be outdone, Morrisons are selling theirs for £5.99 but limiting one per customer.

This sent Tescos bosses into an emergency meetings to come up with a better offer. You can get the book for £5, but you have to spend £50 in store.

=S wow, cheers for that Tescos, every little helps huh?

Of course this is bad news for bookstores who will likely be selling it at the recommended retail price of £17.99 =/

Though this isn't all bad... "mum Sandra Howell, 34, of Notting Hill, West London, spoke for legions of parents by saying: “I’ve got three kids and now I can keep them happy by buying them all a copy.”"

Hangon a minute, Notting Hill? I thought those that lived there were all rich =/ How cheeky!

Those of you who want a bargain, The Sun reported Asda will be selling the new Harry Potter book for a fiver!

That's including Delivery

That was a find and a half, wasn't it?

Did you know that Harry, due to his birthday in the books, is around 27 years old!

I didn't. Bellatrix was born in 1951 too... Wow. And here I was, thinking it was set present day :)

I think Harry ends up with that Looney girl. I like her. =) I can't remember who he was seeing in the 6th one. Perhaps I should read it again. Who else has read it again recently because they've forgotten most of it already? I mean it has been how many years since it came out? 3?

Never read any of them.

However, I pre-ordered one for my Dad, who's read all the rest.  Just in time for his birthday, too!

I'll be out most of Saturday anyway, I'm going to the seaside. But anyway, cheers for the head-up on Tescos Machie.

I must have been how old when I first started reading Harry Potter =\

Where abouts do you live again Timmargh? =) Street name too if you please.

Yeah, I'll especially avoid Digg. Already the last few days there were posts about someone taking photos of the pages already. Another article today about how he didnt remove the info about his camera from the images. So he could be traced. =/

My mum says she's got the book now. Apparently, a client of her work has opened up a small book shop, and is selling them out for £5.

The book's probably 5 pages long and called Terry Batter.

Won't make a difference =( infact even if you did the super saver thing it would still have come on the release date.

My worry is I'll order it and it'll take till Wednesday to delivery and on the day of release I'll spot it in Tescos for £9.

They have it on their site now and you can still pre-order it. Just not sure they would delivery on the Saturday.

edit: oh wait yes they do.

Smeg. I missed the deadline. Now I either pay full price at the shops or wait for Amazon to send another lot out. =(

This is all Garin's fault >=(

I love the books. The stories and plots are brilliant and colourful, however I do often seem to find a repetitive way in how she writes, which can be annoying and a bit of a distraction at times.

I didnt think you read it Chris =)

I'm getting the kids version but I would have prefered a nicer cover.

I think I might order it from Amazon. £9 and free delivery (I think) so I should get it on the day regardless.

I am tempted to read the last book again, but I'm not sure I can afford the time.

The movies need to be about 6 hours long =/

Like everything else that needed to be preordered, it's not needed where I live :)

I can't wait for it, just saw Order of the Phoneix at the cinema on Friday, awful compared to the book, but still good.

I'm also re-reading The Half-blood Prince again to prepare for numero 7.

Oh and I'm getting the adult cover, simply because the childs looks disgracefuly bad.

That's weird - in the one I downloaded Hermione gets it on with Ginny Weasley.

Oh wait ... that was the dream I had last night.

Amazon have 1.9 million copies pre-ordered by customers, and you can assume that customers will have selected the 'First Class' option for delivery.

Royal Mail lost the 2nd class mail Amazon contract to a rival, you can be pretty sure that even if there were a postal strike on the launch day, that Royal Mail will find a way.  Because there's no way they can afford to lose the 1st class contract too.

I downloaded mine in .pdf yesterday off a warez site.  Snape kills Potter and runs of with Hermione who turned out to be a Death Eater all along, and the entire Weasley family turn out to be garden gnomes overdosed on Polyjuice Potion (although in Julie Walter's case it's hard to imagine the difference).
