Yes, but some are from the usual jokey sources that tend to get things very wrong.

Hmmm It would be pretty awesome if the Master came back for the specials I'd love to see 4 epic specials with some sort galatic chase across the cosmos and timeline between The Master and Doctor, and i'd love it if it ended with some form of Ressurection of the Timelords.
Have you read any of the supposed spoilers involing a "split" in the finale?

The Master is the main one I can think of, but JS should be back to play him in one of next year's specials.
Then as far as new monsters for next year we could still have the Sea Devils, Ice Warriors, Rani, Omega, Rassilon and many others that could be dusted off and re-used.

It doesn't bother me so much with Doctor Who, with regards to spoilers half the time the next episode trailer spoils the hell out of it. Like seasons 2 ending in which I had no idea the daleks were back until the Fear Her next episode trailer showed somebody being dalekised.
LOL I guess this episode is more likely to be a This is your Life (at least with regards to the past 4 seasons) character, it's a full house nearly I'd be very surprised if we don't see like every classic villian pop up in some respect.
I mean seriously who isn't the finale this year?

But then the last episode is going to be an hour long and I think there will be a few curveballs, this week's will be mostly setting all that up, so it's not exactly going to be full of surprises.

I had the same thought yesterday when I watched the latest trailer. Between them and the synopsis, you could do a pretty good job of piecing together both episodes I think.

Very nice story in The Guardian about animators making their own animations for classic missing stories:
Click Here for video and article
The BBC say that the Cosgrove Hall animations were a big success (and a big seller for the DVD) but it's too expensive for the BBC to agree to doing any more :(

Oh I'm a fanboy through and through, I love references to even the most obscure of things. BUT I'm not so sure about buying season 4, I've yet to get 3, bar the last 4/5 episodes of 3 I didn't love the eps, so I don't think I want to get it just yet. Having said that season 4 has had a few eps I've really enjoyed
Fires of pompeii
Planet of the ood
Silence in the Library
Forest of the Dead
Midnight
Plus theres still two to go. (Turn Left was good but I didn't love it.)

The classic series was fondly talked about by non-geeks in the UK, but it was really a cult crowd of Tom Baker worshipers in the US that followed the series. Since the reboot it's been big news in the States.

Yep, RTD will still be writing, but wants to spend more time on other projects. RTD currently handles the influx of scripts and writers, organises which stories will be used and oversees the whole story arc and direction of the show. Moffat will take this over, so it's likely the show might feel a little different over all. Moffat favours the 'romantic' Doctor (in the classic literature sense), so I expect more of the Girl in the Fireplace style relationship and maybe a slightly darker arc.

This is just crazy, how popular was Dr Who back in the day pb, because it's astounding how big it is now. I'm seeing Americans on twitter talk about watching recent Dr Who episodes and I wouldnt even consider them sci fi geeks.
There are forums and threads everywhere and most will get several hundred replies just on each episode (apart from here sadly). Now I'm seeing the last episode on the top pages on YouTube right next to Chris' Davros trailer which is getting 10,000s of videos and hundreds of comments.
Even Star Trek didn't bring families together as much as Dr Who has. So many generations even new ones who are experiencing Dr Who for the first time like Garin, Alfonse and your own daughters pb.
I really hope the finale will be a good one, it should be as RTD handles things over to Moffat. Which reminds me, are they sorta switching roles? By that I mean will RTD still contribute to Dr Who even if its just one episode a series?

Hmmmm I hope RTD isn't really planning to "wipe the slate clean" as such, because that would quite frankly suck. I think we'll know within about 10 minutes whether we are getting a reset button or not (basically 90% of the world will be killed but by the end of it they will all be back to life) But it's looking good, so excited to be getting everyone in on it. (Torchwood team etc, why oh why did they kill of the other two!!)
Overall the episode was cool but was more of a standalone than a lead in besides like the last minute, personally I preffered Utopias lead in last year. (Plus though I love the daleks it was refreshing to have a finale without them in it last year)

It's possibly something we may find out more about in the coming 2 episodes.
One rumour is that RTD is undoing everything we found out in the new series so Moffat can start with a clean slate.
Other weird and wonderful rumours (most supposed to be true!)
Harriet Jones reappears (actually, she's in the trailer)
Harriet Jones becomes a dalek
The Daleks are made from Harvested bees (hence them all going missing)
K9 is sent off to save Jenny from a black hole.
Astrid re-appears to help save the day.
The Torchwood Pteradactyl is killed by a Dalek.
The Daleks know the identity of a certain former Prime Minister.
Captain Jack becomes angry at Paul O'Grady's effect on Ianto Jones.
A certain body part in a jar is bubbling.
Wilf was banned from using a webcam as there were suspicions over what he might use it for.
Project Indigo holds the key to salvation.

Ah I think I understand now, well except the whole time locked thing but then to udnerstand it I'd have to be a timelord. :) It's like the clone war only much more interesting and I'd really like to know what happened. I wonder if we'll ever find out.

More likely to be our Davros, missing hand replaced by robot hand and new chair, possibly because his original body was destroyed.

The Doctor uses the same code as the rest of the Timelords, not getting involved unless the fabric of time was under threat. The Doctor annoyed them though, because he tended to meddle far more. The Timelords were the keepers of time, that was their main role.

The Time War was 'time locked' (or at least, that's what the Doctor thinks) which means that it doesn't matter when it happened, it eradicated the Timelords and most of the Daleks from the whole of time.
> Or if I was to kill the Doctor now, he'll still appear with Rose

If you kill the Doctor now it won't matter, as his past is still his past. It would be his future timeline that you'd be removing, so if, say, the 11th Doctor came to visit, that timeline would be eradicated.

So is this still our Davros then pb or could it be one from another universe?
I don't really know much about the Timelords, were they like the Doctor and would get involved when space and time were being messed around with?
Here's an example. I'm a timelord from 2006 and Davros is messing around big time in 2008 but the time war happened in 2007. Is it still possible for me to go and stop him or does anything the Timelords did beyond the war no longer happen.
Or if I was to kill the Doctor now, he'll still appear with Rose 5 billion years later on Platform One to watch the Earth finally be destroyed.

Very good. It was a simple idea but very well executed. One of the best RTD stories to date. Love the fact that they mentioned the fate of Torchwood's team, Sarah Jane and the kids too.

That is not from the past, it's simply an affect of the problems in that reality because of all that has happened.

It was The Trickster, a character with no face from the Sarah Jane Adventures. At the end of Sarah Jane she met the trickster when trying to save herself and he mentions The Doctor and what fun it would be to see what would happen if he wasn't around, that leads directly in to this story.

Badwolf was Rose's warning to herself and to The Doctor, but then became more of a description of her. As Tennant says in Confidential it's like "the Batsignal".
Next week's promises to be great, but let's hope we don't get the usual RTD cop out of a big reset button at the end of the next one...

A good "fun" episode, and a brilliant set up to the finale. Yeah, the one with the living statues, a good episode it was!

I don't think it did, I reckon it was just meant to be a bit of causality.

Not sure about the lady, but the bug lives off of the change in time, kind of like the statues I guess. Temporal Potential Energy... Or something.

Badwolf was the connection the Doctor and Rose had, they were linked through the Tardis who "spread the words across time and space" to show the link, if I remember correctly.

Yes, offhand reference. It's in RTDs vision of the future (mentioned way back in Series 1) that the future is more liberal minded. Many have suggested RTD has an overall gay agenda for the series, but others think he is just adding references in order to make it seem more commonplace.

Back in the spinoffs to the classic series there have been lines about it being unspeakable by human tongue, but in the series no one has ever said his real name, other than River Song whispering it to him.
