Hello,

We are well aware that there are several bugs with the large update to our InstantPro service. This has effected some customers sites and we are doing our best to correct these problems as soon as possible.

This thread will be used by me to make you aware of the problems we know about. I will update each problem when it has been fixed.

If you have edited any of your site pages since the update and the content seems to have messed up (mainly due to font size changes) then you have the option to get all your old content copied across again. Please let me know using the link under my avatar or send in a support ticket.
This will overwrite all your current site content so any page updates you have made will be lost.

I appreciate that this caused significant inconvenience to customers and we apologise for this. We are trying to resolve the following problems as soon as possible:

Problem with font sizes: The editor has a problem mapping the old font sizes used in page content to the new font size that is not in use. This causes pages that have been edited to display differently.

Update: As of 15/07/2009 this has been fixed and fonts are now mapping correctly. See the information above if your site has been effected by this and you wish for your content to be re-copied.

Statistics: User were finding statistics for the current month showed pages that didn't belong to their site and that there were no statistics for June 2009.

Update: This has been corrected as of 14/07/2009.

Problems saving content from the WYSIWYG editor (standard pages, intro text etc: There have been several reports, both from users and the InstantPro automatic error reporting, of users unable to save page content. This seems more common in the older IE6 browser.

Update: As of 2pm on 15/07/2009 this has been fixed. It was caused by a bug in the editor software for a special work around it has for Internet Explorer.

Problems uploading files: Some users may have experience problems when trying to upload files (images, media and documents).

Update: As of 15/07/2009 this has been fixed.

Problem with wrong stock banner image on site: A few users may have found that the stock banner they chose for their site had changed.

Update: As of 15/07/2009 this has been fixed.

Problem with the Logo Creator: We are aware of a problem with the logo creator that causes some text to be 'chopped off' when using some fonts.

Update: This is now fixed as of 11:30am 16/07/2009.

Problem with page preview functionality: When previewing a Work In Progress page the preview shows the main version of the page instead.

Update: This is now fixed as of 16/07/2009.

Page update times: The last updated dates of edited pages aren't being updated.

Update: This is now fixed as of 18/07/2009.

Emails sent from contact forms: Some users may find that emails sent from their contact pages aren't reaching the email address specified when setting up the contact page.

Update: This is now fixed as of 04/09/2009 and was caused by the server sending out mail using a generic From address.

I am having a problem updating my website using a Mac. Each time I enter the page for editing the formatting has changed (Font size, font colour, spacing) I amend the page manually - save it - but when I check the site the formatting has entirely changed (not reverted to how it was originally - different spacing, different font size and colour) When I go back into Page Manager this new formatting is shown there... It's VERY frustrating...

Hello,
Sorry to hear of the problems you are having. Please could you let me know what browser you are using and what the version number of the browser is (usually in Help > About or similar location). I will then be able to check this on our Macs and check your site for issues.

I have an underscore showing up on my home page after the word both in the second paragraph it does not show on the editor but does in the browser.

Shows up in Firefox when editing the page so I've removed it for you.

Edit: You've added the W3C image to your footer but forgotten ALT text, which means you site doesn't validate! I've added alt text for you should really use the code W3C supply:

What browser are you using at the moment?
We try and support all the major browsers, Firefox, IE 6, 7 and 8 (no, not IE5!), Safari 4 and Chrome 2.
At the moment Firefox 3.5 seems the most reliable at displaying thing correctly on different computers so we recommend using that.

I didnt know that or how to use the code they supply would you do that as the alt text or as code somehow?

Just thought as it did validate it would like abit more prof if I used the logo!

What I meant to ask Eccles is is there any difference in using the code as to just the image and if there is how and where do I put it, I guess I open the html editor which I have looked at but cant work out as to where the code should be inserted.

If you open the HTML from the footer editor you should just be able to replace the image code with the code W3C provide. If you can't get ti to work then just let me know and I can do it for you tomorrow.

So I think this is the image code including the alt tag at what point would I start the code and end it I am guessing after xhtml 1,0"

As I am a "Book" man is there a basic book that would help me learn abit about code?

As for books, I'm not sure there's one I can recommend but if you're interested in learning the basics, such as HTML code then the Dummies series of books always seem to be recommended by others.

Fixed bug with the skyscraper editor not loading correctly in Chrome.

Updated the editor to the latest code version.

A new Meta Tags page will be added soon. This will allow custom meta tags to be added.
We need to do this as Google have changed the way site verification works in Webmaster Tools and we can no longer support the URL method of verification so customer Meta Tags will allow the Meta Tag verification method to be used instead.
Any sites that were verified will now show as not verified by Google (or will shortly) as the re-validate every now and then and the new method means that InstantPro sites are not currently valid.
