Well, originally was just replacing. Decided the other day as the laptop crashed that I'd tune up the old desktop downstairs.

Oh could there have been a more woeful idea! I got the high speed RAM and fairly decent graphics card through about an hour and a half ago, got the memory sorted fine but alas it actually seems this motherboard is so ancient that it won't even accept the card into it's PCI slots! I've never known this :D

So yeah, I'm now back at CCL ordering a new mobo. Joy. Oh yeah, I also in a quick burst of rage broke the LEDs that show you when the HDD is being accessed or when the computer is on :P

Chris doesn't know how to build a PC :)

I remember building this one, I spent a lot of time researching and buying all the parts, making sure they would all work together. Then I paniced when I put them all together and it wouldnt turn on.

Luckily I had another PC and I was told about this little button on the motherboard that I had forgotton to turn one.

That was about 6+ years ago and it's still going strong. Though I kinda wish I could buy it some more RAM. It only has 512MB and 6 years ago people told me 1GB was probably too much now even the cheapest laptops have 2GB :(

I have no idea what kind of RAM it is so I'd worry about getting the wrong one and wasting my money. I could really use it though as I'm working on images as big as 12,000 pixels

heh, seems that way.

Well, it's all sunny again now.  Give it an hour and the roads will all be dry again.

Just lucky that I haven't hired the car yet, will probably just do that for a week or so to keep the costs down.  My brother-in-law has been driving us to the pool and sea so far (2x sea 1x pool and we've been here a week already).

Your goods? Are you peddling drugs again? And you use to be such a nice boy. :(

The rain in Spain, falls mainly on pb while the rest of us get hot and sticky in this humid weather the last couple of the days.

I still need to change my duvet from a winter one to a summer one :(

We don't do duvets!

Argh, I've been waiting all morning for the damn City Link delivery "service". Well to be fair, they have kept me posted on everything, it's just it's been nearly four hours since they loaded my goods into their van.

Other than that, I'm well pb :) You're in Spain, right? I guess you are to be blamed for the bad weather after all!

I'm here because I got soaking wet walking back from town.  The heavens opened and we had a full thunderstorm.  Not bothered though, even though I was in shorts, a t-shirt and sandals.

Trying not to drip on the keyboard!

How's everyone doing today?

Enough of that for me, I've got an interview today up in London; if all goes well, I could be away for a few weeks doing fundraising.

I could be going mad. :^)

Also, pb's Avatar is awesome.

Wow!  Wall-E.  What can I say.  Best film this year?  Dark Knight better be great if it wants to beat this in my personal best for 2008.

Oh, and evening people.

Aside from the human story, it's almost a silent-movie and you shouldnt have any problem understanding whats going on.

Would like to go and see Wall-E at the cinema, but not sure how much speaking there is and my Spanish isn't quite 100% yet.

Also, that PSP video service has just launched, but I can't sign in from here, I have to be back home.  Hopefully they still have the 1 month free trial for it.

I'm on Spanish time!

Well, if it's any consolation, it's raining here as well, and thunder too.

Mind you, it will probably clear by this afternoon and get hot again...I hope!

Got that bloody Vundo trojan as well.  The Trend Micro Virus scanner is hopeless, but I can't turn it off.  I've installed AVG free edition on top though, in the hope it will do the trick.

Thats right, but these weapons are all blunt so you can sell them to anyone.

They had some really nice ones though, I'll see if I can upload some photos.

I thought the sale of swords and such were banned in February. There is a shop in town that used to sell them but had to stop because you either need a licence or they need to be genuine antiques.

I went to the Tewkesbury battle today. You guys should go some time, it's the biggest medieval festival in Europe. America has the bigger ones despite being discovered after the medieval period in history.

Where else can you go and buy swords, axes, daggers, arrows, clay pipes, medieval garb and see busty wenches proudly displaying their clevage?

Now that is a problem. Try playing them in Media Player Classic, you can put volume up to 200% on DVDs if I remember correctly, it almost makes speakers redundant!

Well, we pretty much made the decision a week before, as we scraped together the money for the flights.  Can't say accomodation is all that good, staying at my wife's old house (father-in-laws) which has no air conditioning in summer and no heating in winter (and, yes, it does get cold).

Still, it's somewhere we can leave stuff and know it will be there again next year, though my brother-in-law seems to have taken my speakers I use for watching films on the laptop!
