You guys are lucky, I'm not allowed them anymore as I have to try and be fit and healthy from now on. I don't want to be a Homer Simpson to my kids and get worn out jogging to the front gate. :D

I'd like to see them filming in my hometown, it's only 10-15 miles from the airfield where the programme is filmed!

Golf Carts, this smells somewhat of the first Jackass movie...

Thanks for the advice and the good luck.  Strangely it is something I saw myself doing some day in the future.

Just can't wait to get started. I can't see why it's going to take about 6 weeks for the job to start - references do't take that long do they?

Hippyman:

Believe me I do - two sons were in the same position, both got jobs now and their relief and outlook on life is unbelievable. I had 5 years out before I could return, but my choice this time, and again unbelievable - no matter what it is.. go for it, use it, milk it but enjoy the 'freedom' that it will give you...:)

Hello everybody!

I'm not sure if any of you watch Top Gear (perhaps you've heard of it?) anyway there's a film crew at my brothers work tonight, Tewkesbury Park Hotel (4 stars). They have a big golf course so I thought they might be filming something stupid with golf carts. Apparently the production team brought a red one along.

Thanks Dragonlance.

Gives me time now to finish decorating the bedroom, sort out the garden and spend a bit of time with friends at university. Can't believe how big a relief it is.

No work for me until next Sunday, but I guess I could do with the money so i'm looking forward to it. That's probably the first time you'll hear that from someone who could end up with shifts from 9 to mid-afternoon and 7 to maybe past 1 AM!

It's surprising how often that happens. When you don't want a job, you can inadvertently create an atmosphere of them having to sell you the job during the interview. Subconciously this can make your interview want you more than if it was clear you desperately wanted the job.

It's weird, but psychology is a funny thing.

Well, yes and no. It is 'us' time of a different type.

I'd already told her, yesterday in fact. It was never intended to be a surprise.

Thats 7 weeks away. No reason not to temp until then ;P
Suprisingly i've been asked back for a 2nd interview. They must be short on people who want this job which doesn't bode well for me. Of all the jobs i've applied for, this was the one i didnt really want. It'll be bloody typical if i get it.

Start at the beginning of June and just over the moon as it means I can stop trawling all the jobs an dealing with stupid recritment agencies :)

You dont think trying for a baby qualifies as "Us" time?
Oh and well done on the suprise. Better hope she doesn't get bored and read the forums.

Well, after spending weeks wracking my brain for what I should be buying Lucy for her 30th birthday, I've settled on getting her a day's pampering at an aqua spa just outside Nottingham, something she's never done before and I know she'll enjoy.

Plus, probably the last time we get some relaxation and 'us' time before we make a start on trying for a baby.

If you feel bad, read stories of bad and embarassing interviews. That'll probably make anyone feel better.
But good luck.

Worse. I got stuck with an inexperienced interviewer who had an annoying habit of wording his questions awkwardly and out of order. He scrambled my brain
