Afternoon.
{looks down thread and decides not to say anything}
RE: Forums. I don't know about making money, my understanding was that they were here to encourage people towards using Freeola as an ISP, that just might mean lurkers or those who get tempted by GAD. Don't know really, we've seen some new people here who've stayed and a few have been quiet, but then it's summer as well.
Seems ok to me.

I love the Hurricanes! :D
Okay maybe that was a bit harsh, I usually just apologise and pull my trolley out of the way. :) You probably put him off shopping at Tescos for life now heh.

Not at all. Yesterday was a strange day. Throughout the whole day i seemed to be switching between my normal self and a very angry me for absolutely no reason.
I was in Tescos yesterday and this 60+ year old guy just very slightly nudged my trolley out of the way to get past. My reaction was quite loudly "Yeah dont ask me to move, just barge your way through like i'm not here. For f**ks sake!". Completely out of character for me. The guy was shocked, i got the glare from the woman on the checkout who i'd been chatting quite cheerfully to 30 seconds earlier.

Morning Machie
Hey, McLong, not sure if you read this thread, but my old teacher was an artist for the Hurricanes, drew a load of the characters, showed us the work he did for it. If it adds anything to your memory, he was a fantastic guy too, great sense of humour.

Yikes, sorry Nin the whole message was directed at Biggles. I was in agreement with you and felt a little defensive after what he said. The "That was harsh" bit was about him comparing us with old SR and saying we only have 10 posts daily, which isn't true. So then I went on with the "I'll tell you one thing..." ranting why I prefer this smaller community than the SR one.
Infact I wrote it while you posted yours, I couldn't think of what to say so kept changing it. When I saw you had commented, you were spot on. He comes around as often as Christmas and rather than take part in the community it just seems like he's here to see if the place is dead or not.
So I'm sorry about that Nin, I should have edited the post and made it clearer. :(
And I agree with what Grix said. SR is gone, it was fun while it lasted but the internet is always changing. So I'm happy with what we have here, but of course I would love it to be more popular to justify Freeolas investment in the forum. I'm sure we all dread the day the forum closes, but I'm sure we'll all find a new home to replace it (hopefully).
Oh and Biggles should you read all of this, sorry for being defensive, you know we all still love you. I owe you a lot for all your free and advice and long chats in the WLT. :)

I don't understand the need for an apology really at all. You both made perfectly reasonable statements. This place is almost dead, and no, Biggles doesn't help.
I think the problem really is, is this what you want? As far as I can see from the others, yes, it is. Like people say, it's a different community now. Smaller, less goes on, but you're making friends. If this isn't what you want then well, go and do what you want to do instead. Otherwise, well, just enjoy yourselves, there's no need to defend it like it's wrong. So yeah, I can understand why you might feel the need to apologise there Nin, it did seem a bit hostile, kinda guessed because you felt threatened etc, which is understandable because it's really hard to tell sometimes if this place is ever going to change and I guess that might be a bit touchy.
Personally I don't think it is. I can't see a big influx of users, there's nothing to attract people now, and all you can really do is keep your fingers crossed that Freeola don't realise the forums aren't going to become the hive of activity and interest they once were and close them down for good. I really don't want that to happen now, because what's here is a little haven for you guys and it's really quite nice and relaxing, if not the most exciting and creative forum ever. I don't mean that as an insult at all, I just don't see why it needs to be.
So well, just enjoy it. If you're happy here, which well, I am too when I like to visit, there's no need to keep up all these arguments about how terrible/better/worse/horrible etc it used to be, or defence of how it'll improve soon, or excuses to why there's only 29 posts instead of 95 today.
Just.. have fun. It's a nice forum guys, enjoy it. I've suddenly got a lot more time on my hands so I might write a few topics in the next few weeks. But for now I'm off to bed because I've had a rather busy day, so g'night all of you still awake!

What kind of a question is that? They're important if you need additional I/O ports. :)

Yeah, Machie is right...nice to have a little bit of discussion with few people! As I'm away most the day it's nice to find my last post to be able to follow the conversation.
Meh, she didn't write to me, only respond to my e-mail. Don't want to add her to facebook as I'm not wanting to get the stalker status :P

That was harsh.
I'll tell you one thing, I like this community a lot more than I did when it was Special Reserve. It would be nice to have 1000s of posts each day and hundreds of members, but I've made some great friends and I'm quite happy.
Luckily I can have my cake and eat it too and what I can't get on Freeola I can get from other forums and websites now. :)

You post twice a year. Are you helping?
No-one cares to be honest, especially not in summer. If someone has something to say then fine but no-one posts just for the sake of it anymore.

Ha! Try 230,000 Euros for a 3 bedroom terrace house, 20 Euros a day for Playgroup and food that costs the same as in the South of England. Plus Fuel here is now one of the highest in Europe, not (like in England) because of the Tax, but because the petrol companies here want to make a huge profit.

I thought living in Spain was cheap. £50,000 for a beautiful villa. £2,000 for a good family sized car. Cheap food and resturants. Oh and cheap bilingual kindergardens for the kids. No wonder you want to move over there ASAP Paul.

I wish! No, we're out here for three weeks. Not getting to the beach or swimming pool much as we have to rely on my brother in law to drive at the moment, and can't afford to eat out, but can't complain.

Evening. Good day everyone?
Still eating the cake from yesterday, it was an ice cream one, as they tend to have those more than what we'd call a cake. Very nice too. Chocolate Ice Cream, sponge and real cream.

Thinking back, it wasn't a case of her saying "my boyfriend" It was more "My ex - I mean my boyfriend"...hopefully thats a good thing :) Think I'll just forget about it for the weekend and it can be the one highlight of my working day on Monday :)
