Big risk I know, but figured I only have a month really to make an impression before she disappears for a while.  If it works well she may remember me when she gets back... But if it is and it does go wrong, its not much lost.

Heh...thanks or worrying.  I'm just hoping I got the right place that she works at - at least if they can't find it they have the contact number

>I'm sure she'll love it

Hope so...last time I sent some it was really embarrassing (at school) and had to go into hiding until the end of term.  Still, although she threw up a fuss at the time, she has since told me it was the sweetest thing anyone had done for her.

Making up to do?  Or just trying to be like me, overly romantic in a non-romantic world?

Anyway, mine should arrive tomorrow.  Eeek...excited to see what the response is, as Emmie said, works most of the time!

sending flowers is a classic, and works most the time. But it should not be over used or else the effect wears off!

Anyway - another lovely grey morning which i did not want to get out of bed for. Played more Halo last night and i am rising through the ranks!

After a very busy day yesterday i am hoping today may be less hectic and i can clear my desk!

Yes, I've seen many a woman go weak over it.  it's especially good if said woman is working in a group of other women who will sigh at the sight of flowers being sent.  :D

Ok...do flowers sent to a workplace actually impress people?
I have a strange feeling that I may have gone a tad overboard...or it could be my cold/man flu.

Even if it doesn't work, she'll probably enjoy the attention at work :/

I did write one up awhile ago, but the moderators unsticked it :(

If someone wants to do another one, go ahead. If you put a little effort into it, you might win yourself £30.

I'm listening to a 2 hour and 13 minute podcast about Dr Who series 4. I just found out the professor in the episode Midnight, is actually the son of the second Doctor. You should have told me that pb, you know I love trivia like that. :D

I've noticed something.

We don't have a Welcome thread.  Do we not want to encourage people on to this site?  :D

Most other forums seem to have a welcome thread for newbies to identify themselves.  I'm not sure they'd know where to come on this site, it's not too obvious.

I may have to end up putting the radiators on if the kids get too cold at night.

I can cope myself, though I've been wrapping up a bit while working from home these last few weeks!

We have ours on only for brief periods, being students with no money. I bet my housemates will start complaining when bills start to emerge... what makes it worse is that my income varies week-to-week owing to working hours.

Also, I saw Dragonforce last night. :D

Poor Jason, I'm sure everything will be fine. Hope you get better soon.

I'm feeling a little better today but not ideal when I have so much work to do. It was really cold last night, now I have to put a little radiator in my office otherwise I'll freeze to death.

PS. Have they started to send out vouchers yet? I kinda need the ones I won on september 2nd. :(

i got it on the Xbox - my brother really wanted it on there so as he was helping pay for it i didn't mind.

I have not played fifa since like 2004, it is so much better than i remember and after downloading the PES demo i am tempted to say i like FIFA better. But then i will still grab PES aswell i reckon.

There are some people online who aint very good lol, i played 4 games online and won 4, beat someone 5 - 1 which is always enjoyable.

What format did you get FIFA on in the end Emmie?

Not too bad here, looks like it may rain soon, but not at the moment.  I've not been feeling too good over the weekend though and still feeling a bit off.

Hope your all well and had a good weekend.

Too late...already have it :(

Woo, working a 9-6 shift at Game practically alone today (even though I stated that if I do them a favour I only want 4-hour morning shifts :(  That plus a cold plus an odd feeling that the date didn't go as well as plannedhas made me not a happy hippy :(

How is everyone else today?

Thanks for the tips, I'll bear that in mind when I choose.  Of course, still have the larger task of finding out where all the moisture on our walls is coming from.  Until we've finished looking in to that Ana Maria can't have her room painted.

Not half, every rad to be taken off! You'll need to bleed the heating system totally and then remove, place 'foil' and re-fit each rad, then re-fill system. Hope you go with the 'fitting in place' option - bit of 'cutting', but a simpler option. Make sure the adhesive is good - close proximity to heat etc. Just thought, going with the 'fitting in place' option, use a 'radiator roller' to adhere the foil to the wall - will give a better adhesion:)

Well, it says that it's possible to fit it with the radiator in place, otherwise it'll be a job and a half.

In other news, I've decided to use my remaining trade in money to get FIFA09.  Blockbuster (where I have the tradeins) is doing it for £35 with a free football and £15 vouchers towards future purchases.

So that's another off my list.  Just GOW2, Fable2, Wii Music and a few others this year to work out how to get!  :D

Are you going to remove the radiator to position the foil or attempt to place the foil behind, with the rad in place?

Would make sense as the heat travels upwards.  You can also get little fans to put above the radiator to ensure heat is spread around the room.  I'm looking in to reviews on the foil thing and from what I've read so far they work quite well.

Normally, it seems, the heat is absorbed by the wall behind it and a lot of heat is lost through this, the foil 'bounces' it back into the room.

Apparently a shelf above the radiator helps to disperse the heat better:)

Evening.  Tested the radiators today to see if any needed bleeding, but they seem to be fine.  We'll still put off sticking the heating on until we need to, but don't want the house to get more damp.

We're also looking at getting those foil or metal inserts for behind the radiators as well to reflect the heat.

Sorry to here the boiler news. PB mentioned earlier about not using the central heating yet. Mrs Dragonlance, shortly after, mentioned that it was 'a bit nip' - that means to me she's cold, put the heating on. Same thing here - boiler packed up and we are now awaiting the arrival of a new expansion tank! So cold, we've had a family of penguins move in:-)

Morning everyone.

Ah yes, FIFA09.  Played the demo and quite enjoyed it, but it's not first on my list and I have to be picky. I've already had to trade in 4 games just to get LBP at the end of the month and I really want Saints Row 2 as well, not to mention Lego Batman.

Really have to cut back on everything now.

Workwise, it's still all go until I finish these stupid fixes.  Once that's done I have 2 telecons this afternoon and then at 3pm I'll try to escape.  I decided to work from home, though, which at least means less of a drive and less to spend on fuel.
