My room isn't that big and not very organised. I wonder if that person could connect all those consoles to the TV. Not at the same time obviously.

I sold my older consoles to pay for newer ones. The classic consoles I have now are all bought later for a small amount or earned by helping people out who gave me them in return.
Although there's nothing like playing on a physical console, emulators can fill that gap for now.
I'm pretty good working from home, don't touch the consoles unless I'm on lunch or on a break. Occassionally have a half day so I can get time to catch up, but then I also end up with a list of jobs to do around the house.
I'll take you up on that offer when I win the lottery and get out to Japan! It's one of those places I've been dying to visit.

Impressive, how do you get any work done when you're working from home? What happened to your NES, SNES and MegaDrive? Parents gave them away? They're usually the culprits. My MD was taken from me. Curse whoever owns it now.
Lets go to Super Potato when you come to Japan.

That is a thing of beauty.
I know right? GP will love this. I don't think my wife would like it though, but I'd love either one of these or a home theatre room. It's like a museum!
I was going to say exactly the same thing, Gina wouldn't allow me to have anything like that. Saying that, my small study room has a Gamecube, original (hacked) Xbox, Saturn and Dreamcast in, plus the PS3, my PC, Mac, a 21" monitor/TV for those and 32" TV for the consoles.
Wii and 360 are downstairs as they have more of the family games on and Kinect, which needs a large room to use.

That's great, thanks for that pb. So Im guessing everyone has Netlix here? They'll keep adding new content I bet. Hulu does, we have Dr Who and Torch Wood and even Top Gear. Maybe it will make LoveFilm more competitive, they're owned by Amazon right? Oh and thank you for mentioning the kids shows. That would be one of the main reasons for them to get it, for my cousins to watch.
Now all we need in the UK is Red Box. £1 a night DVD rental from a kiosk in your local supermarket.

That reminds me pb. Can you give me an idea of what is on (or not on) Netflix in the UK? (Like the old classics, UK shows, latest movies like Pixar, etc) I've been wanting it for so long and we only have Hulu here. I'd check it myself but Netflix doesnt allow outside visitors on their sites.
I'd like to recommend it to my Mum and brothers.
You own an Apple TV right? Can you stream your tv shows on that or is it just for downloading?
Most important first: Classic Doctor Who and all the new stuff.
Netflix: Loads of old TV shows and movies and some recent stuff, though not as much as I'd like. The list is growing all the time and they don't seem to take stuff off (like Lovefilm's streaming service do, they sometimes only have a film on for a few weeks). We watched Homeward Bound (the remake) and Three Amigos the other week, then the kids watched a load of Spongebob Squarepants on their iPod Touch.
Looking at the current recommendations it has Horrid Henry the movie (released last year), Outnumbered, Torchwood, Breaking Bad, The Way, Drive Angry, Iron Man Extremis (animated), The Ropes and The Only Way is Essex.
The Apple TV doesn't have a hard drive, so it's all streaming. But now TV and music is streamed from the cloud, so if you bought it on iTunes or have iTunes Match then you can just stream to the Apple TV with no other hardware.
You can also stream any video on the iPad or new iPhone to Apple TV and games too and, of course, it has Netflix and BBC iPlayer too.

Morning.
Why is it when you leave at 3.30pm, does someone then go and set a meeting for 4pm?
Machie - Many Blurays have a digital copy included anyway, so I go for those first. Disney are notorious, so I'm not surprised. They are doing more digital copies with their films, though, which is a good sign.
iTunes prices have got much better too (Ghost Protocol £9.99 with all previous films £4.99 last week and with iTunes extras). More 1080p films and hopefully films will be added to the cloud soon (TV and music already is, but movies are only on the cloud in the US) meaning I can redownload on the go.
Anything that doesn't have a digital copy I just have on Bluray for now anyway. There's only so much you can watch. But Netflix works on iPhone too and is £4.99 a month, so that would be one option.

So how is Diablo 3? I heard there were some server problems. My question is, I thought Diablo was a single player game? Why are servers involved at all? I played and loved the first one. Never got the second one.
DL, you're down with the young people. Do you know what a Skrillex is? Is it a pokemon or something? I keep seeing people mention it.
Pete, thanks for the advice. The one I found was a Buffalo one, I'll try and find a Panasonic. There really shouldnt be a problem with me getting them here. My parents in law are still using a VCR. I just want to skip blu-ray altogether.
pb, I always wanted to collect limited edition DVDs. Now the future is streaming. I dont think the studios even want us to buy the downloads. They dont want us to own anything. Just buy a license to view their content for a short period of time.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is 75 years old. Why can't I get it on iTunes? Whats their excuse for putting it back in their vault? You cant run out of digital downloads like you can a DVD run. They'd still end up charging 14 pounds for it. Maybe you're right pb and try and get everything on DVD first and burn it onto the computer. I wonder what software you use. I've been disappointed with some of the ones Ive used. They never capture everything.

Few more reviews for a staffie to remove. Far fewer one-liners than in the past. Seems to have decreased somewhat. Think I'll clean the review forum every month from now on. Logically seems like a more sensible system.
I will get round to cleaning up the entire review forum at some point (removing bad reviews - hopefully with the assistance of a staff member; adding the relevent tag at the start of every title e.g. [Game], [Film] etc.). Should make for a very resourceful and tidy review forum then :-)
If anyone hasn't yet, get over to the EURO 2012 thread and join in on the fantasy team game. Even if you don't follow football, it's a bit of fun.

Morning all.
Nothing wrong with a bit of Optical Disc. Until they start providing all the extras on Downloadable movies and TV series it's still the best format for the complete experience. Plus there still aren't all that many 1080p movie downloads around (legally).
Besides, what about all the cases, artwork and little flyers in the Bluray boxes that we'd all be missing out on? :)

Is BetamaxHD is not available in Japan yet Machie? :P
On a serious note, Panasonic DVR's are very good. They are really easy to use with excellent recording quality. I've had 3 of them in total, really recommend them. I've no idea how much they are in Japan though?

It is, I just wanted to get DL to tape some things I miss watching :) Actually I haven't started yet. I only checked the site on May 12th (still the 11th in the UK) and of course registration closes on May 12th. I could have still registered, but I didn't have the money prepared. So now I have to wait till October now. :(
I was looking at some short courses. Volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis and Understanding the weather. You can understand why I chose them.

Work tomorrow and Wednesday the joy! Amazing how the minds dislikes Mondays and the first day back at work on a brand new week.
Olympic torch run on Friday evening on BBC 1. I really don't care about it unless Boris Johnson performs a comedy act.
Surely anything Boris does counts as a comedy act? :)
