The radar is more useful than the entire map, because it tells you of any green shells, and if you get blooper-ed on a dangerous bit, it can save your hide.
I discovered that you could change it when I was really far ahead in a race, and was looking for something to do.

Oh FAD is finished now :S I didnt notice, sorry Biggles when I went to check for some reason FAD has disappeared from my computer well the .exe file and when I went to reinstall it I read the project is over. I wonder if they made it uninstall, the only thing I did recently was run registry mechanic and about 6 other adware and spyware programs. Oh well. Got any other worthfile programs I can run Biggles? I dont fancy doing SETI.

There was an automatic client update, except this one uninstalled the client.
What do you fancy doing? There are loads of distributed computing projects. Protein sequencing, particle accelerator design, prime number finding, cryptography breaking, modelling fluids in microgravity, pulsar searching, climate prediction, internet mapping...
There is something called BOINC, which you may have heard of before, it's a platform for various projects. It's a bit like the job queue server in FAD, except it allows you to get work for several different projects. Click Here. I'm active in a whole bunch of projects now, all for Ars Technica. If you have any questions or looking for information, there is loads in our forum: Click Here

Cheers Biggles, looks like you need a few million to make it into top 10, I'd do it for you but without the exe I'd have no way of changing the team number. I only have 16 million Gflops.
I'll go with this Bionic if you think it's worthwile, I always leave this computer on so I'd like it to be doing something useful.
Everything is going well for me I'm taking animation more seriously and got a really good book this christmas, reall useful, was hoping to get into a course in january but wasnt able to. So instead I'll work on my life drawing and go back to the short stories I planned earlier this year. Try and get one of them done. Who would have though drawing naked people would be so vital to learning animation *grin* so I've been looking at a lot of porn, art and life drawing models to get pictures for me to draw. Though I'd really love to have a live model, dont suppose you'd be interested Trish?
Oh by the way Trish, sorry about our last chat, my brothers girlfriend came in wanting me to call the home office again about her lost passport. (it went missing about she extended her visa). Hope you can come on again sometime?
Hope you had a good time over the holidays Biggles.
Still no Nick on SR? I think he said on SP he wasnt coming back to Freeola.

That's a shame. I know I couldn't stay on SP, as nice as it was, just because I'm far too used to these boards. I couldn't see myself regularly contributing on boards like SP for 6 months or so. Maybe because my computer sucks, I don't know.

Biggles I'm trying to create projects but they keep saying there isnt enough diskspace, which is crazy as I have over 5GB. The Disk tab just lists 0 bytes but doesnt display project names.
Edit: Now the project names have appeared but still no jobs or anything
Edit: God that was annoying, having to change prefenences on all the sites. Who came up with that idea :S 100GB I hope they dont really eat up that much

Yeah I know what you mean, I just tried popping over there and I think the forums have been taken down. Maybe they're gone for good already. Freeola has been quite but I think that's more to do with the holidays so I'm sure everything will pick up.

Other than Climate Prediction, none of the BOINC projects use that much disk space, literally only a few megabytes. What ones did you join up with? If you're looking for a team or more points, I can provide them ;-)
City Of Villains? Nope, only heard of it. Don't even know what it is about and don't really care much either.
You still in Ireland, Lindy?

I'm here sir, i just prefer to do other things when i'm not busy. I couldn't be bothered with this place before it shut down and nothing much has changed fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you see it.

I didnt know what to go for so I read a bit about them and just signed up, some either arent working at the moment like SETI and others arent taking new members at the moment.
I'm currently working doining;
rosetta@home
Predictor @ Home
Einstein@Home
climateprediction.net
LHC@home
World Community Grid
uFluids
SZTAKI Desktop Grid
boincsimap
SETI (when it's working again)
I'll add/remove depending how things go.

So that's your name now Flock/Nin. I thought I had seen you about.
I've been playing just about the worst poker I've ever played and I've won about £25 over the last 2 weeks.

Flock is finally gone now but people still keep calling me it or mistaking me for a Nine Inch Nails fan.
I've been completely useless for about a month. Can't keep my concentration at all when i actually play, lost the money i'd won (not that i minded). I've just got too much on my mind at the moment.

A fair bit, we played some games, watched re-runs of the Awful Truth then ventured out and played golf on the beach with real clubs, tennis balls and christmas baubles.

Good morning and happy new year - hope you had a good one :)
This is it. Back into the old routine already and it isn't even 8.00 yet. Oddly I woke up this morning singing songs from Gigi and by 7.15 would have killed for a special chow mein. Oh well....
