I love the randomness of this thread sometimes.
Despite being on holiday I'm limiting my alcohol intake to the occassional can of cold Spanish beer and the odd glass of wine every so often.
The fact that we're staying with family and have 2 small children really prevents anything more.
Anyway, so hot at the moment, there's a big bottle of water in the fridge to cool me down and some ice cream for later too. yey!

Depends entirely on what you 'sent' but if it made the day better, then that's ok.
Didn't know that Pandora had any worms? Maybe it's a new variety:D

I'm sure it will be okay. It wasn't anything incriminating or potentially damaging to your career was it? If not it'll be okay.
Come up the pub later, pub makes bad things go away. :D Until morning of course when the hangover starts. ;)

Someone might be able to help me with this. I've been wanting to learn how to drive for ages but was put off the continual costs, insurance, petrol etc but it's been mentioned to me that i could just rent a car when i wanted to get away. Aside from the obvious drivers license, what other legal stuff would i need, to be able to rent?

Afternoon all. Weather is still pretty nice, not too hot at 35c, but looks like Seville has the big heat as usual, it's currently 40c there.
I'm still convinced that Wii Music is going to be great. I keep watching the videos for it. Looks like it's going to be nothing like GH or Rock Band, which is good because it'll be something new. Apparently it's going to have settings for people who have no hope of even keeping in time, right up to a setting for people who really want to learn how to play and instrument.
Ok, so many will find it too colourful and fun to play, but I love all that Nintendo goodness, it's like everything's right with the world and a big rainbow is shining. We need that in today's world of pressure and disappointment, somewhere to escape to!
Anyway, I digress. I can't remember my dad's birthday. I know it's sometime around now (not long after mine) but I've only got it on the calender at home. D'oh! Need to find out without resorting to phoning him and asking myself...

Depends on my mood. If i'm fine i'll just curse myself and get on with things. If not i'll walk away.

I think until i was about 20 i didnt know how to deal with stress and i used to work myself up into a big ball of stress/upset just waiting for something to set me off. These days i tend to clean or get on with whatever project i'm working on. Hardly relaxing but i dont find it easy to calm down once i'm in a state.

A problem i've always had, and it's the one thing thats caused me more hassle than anything else, is not knowing my own mind. By that i mean being able to tell the difference between what are my normal feelings and when my brain is f**king with me. I'm gotten really upset with people in past, told them i wanted nothing more to do with them and then realised 4 hours later thats not how i feel at all. I learnt to recognise when i'm in that mood and control it but yesterdays anger was a new one and it caught me offguard. It was only last night when i was reading on here and thought "I actually had a good day, what the hell was that about"

If you're anything like me then, I'm finding it help to keep a sense of humour about things. I'm probably being an absolute ba s rd right now but I'm doing my best not to take anything too seriously, or at least - making an effort to realise when something -should- be taken seriously and when there's no need. And even if you -do- take it seriously, you can still laugh whilst you're doing it.
Basically I think, I'm gonna make mistakes anyway, no matter how absolutely hard I try to make sure I don't. They will happen. So I can either just laze around and not put any effort in, or put plenty of effort in and do my best to make as few as possible. Only problem there though, is stress! Because it'll just build and build, and there needs to be some balance to let it out. Time to relax. Problem I have is all the things I generally do to 'relax' aren't relaxing at all, it's taxing on my mind. I like to entertain myself, think a lot. Difficult to work out how to take a break from it.
I guess maybe the answer there is to focus on something physical, as in, movements. If you focus on controlling part of your body, you can direct your thoughts and focus, and do something that doesn't exactly strain your mind. Something like.. tai chi, yoga, or just meditation. Focusing on breathing etc.
I guess it's pretty logical, but hard to know how long you need to do it for before you can really feel refreshed. Patience and curiousity, I suppose!

That sums me up pretty well really. With anything i care about i'm deeply perfectionist but i'm been expecting the same of the people around me recently. For about 3 weeks i've just been becoming gradually more and more snappy and yesterday i just lost it repeatedly. Even today when i've not stepped outside my room i'm raging inside for no reason.

Oh, anger! Okey. Wonder why that's going on.. haven't stopped smoking recently by any chance? :D
Nah no idea. I haven't been angry recently, but something similar is happening.. I think I'm just getting more and more irritated at the tiny little things people do wrong. Like, there's no room for mistakes in anyone. I think it's because possibly I've really had to start monitoring myself a lot more closely for the time being, and I'm refusing to let myself make -any- mistakes at all, becoming much more of a perfectionist, and I'm expecting the same from others because of how on edge I am, maybe. Not exactly.. laid back right now. But then, on top of that, I actually HAVE stopped smoking.
Good luck anyway, only have questions instead of advice, but I imagine it'll pass anywho. I've got a ton of laxatives at the moment though, so I'm wondering if that'll stop me from being so a nal.

They're all long beeps, but sometimes I hear only 2 and other times I hear 3 long with one short right at the end. Which kinda leads me to think that they're continuous beeps and the comp is just shutting itself down from short circuting or overheating :(
I'm going to try replacing the RAM with some slower spec models tomorrow.

Afternoon.
{looks down thread and decides not to say anything}
RE: Forums. I don't know about making money, my understanding was that they were here to encourage people towards using Freeola as an ISP, that just might mean lurkers or those who get tempted by GAD. Don't know really, we've seen some new people here who've stayed and a few have been quiet, but then it's summer as well.
Seems ok to me.

Not at all. Yesterday was a strange day. Throughout the whole day i seemed to be switching between my normal self and a very angry me for absolutely no reason.
I was in Tescos yesterday and this 60+ year old guy just very slightly nudged my trolley out of the way to get past. My reaction was quite loudly "Yeah dont ask me to move, just barge your way through like i'm not here. For f**ks sake!". Completely out of character for me. The guy was shocked, i got the glare from the woman on the checkout who i'd been chatting quite cheerfully to 30 seconds earlier.

Yikes, sorry Nin the whole message was directed at Biggles. I was in agreement with you and felt a little defensive after what he said. The "That was harsh" bit was about him comparing us with old SR and saying we only have 10 posts daily, which isn't true. So then I went on with the "I'll tell you one thing..." ranting why I prefer this smaller community than the SR one.
Infact I wrote it while you posted yours, I couldn't think of what to say so kept changing it. When I saw you had commented, you were spot on. He comes around as often as Christmas and rather than take part in the community it just seems like he's here to see if the place is dead or not.
So I'm sorry about that Nin, I should have edited the post and made it clearer. :(
And I agree with what Grix said. SR is gone, it was fun while it lasted but the internet is always changing. So I'm happy with what we have here, but of course I would love it to be more popular to justify Freeolas investment in the forum. I'm sure we all dread the day the forum closes, but I'm sure we'll all find a new home to replace it (hopefully).
Oh and Biggles should you read all of this, sorry for being defensive, you know we all still love you. I owe you a lot for all your free and advice and long chats in the WLT. :)

I don't understand the need for an apology really at all. You both made perfectly reasonable statements. This place is almost dead, and no, Biggles doesn't help.
I think the problem really is, is this what you want? As far as I can see from the others, yes, it is. Like people say, it's a different community now. Smaller, less goes on, but you're making friends. If this isn't what you want then well, go and do what you want to do instead. Otherwise, well, just enjoy yourselves, there's no need to defend it like it's wrong. So yeah, I can understand why you might feel the need to apologise there Nin, it did seem a bit hostile, kinda guessed because you felt threatened etc, which is understandable because it's really hard to tell sometimes if this place is ever going to change and I guess that might be a bit touchy.
Personally I don't think it is. I can't see a big influx of users, there's nothing to attract people now, and all you can really do is keep your fingers crossed that Freeola don't realise the forums aren't going to become the hive of activity and interest they once were and close them down for good. I really don't want that to happen now, because what's here is a little haven for you guys and it's really quite nice and relaxing, if not the most exciting and creative forum ever. I don't mean that as an insult at all, I just don't see why it needs to be.
So well, just enjoy it. If you're happy here, which well, I am too when I like to visit, there's no need to keep up all these arguments about how terrible/better/worse/horrible etc it used to be, or defence of how it'll improve soon, or excuses to why there's only 29 posts instead of 95 today.
Just.. have fun. It's a nice forum guys, enjoy it. I've suddenly got a lot more time on my hands so I might write a few topics in the next few weeks. But for now I'm off to bed because I've had a rather busy day, so g'night all of you still awake!
