Everybody remember the cryptic sweeties and chocolates quizzes?  I enjoyed the last one so much that I've decided to do one on bands and singers, but the clues are just as cryptic as in the other quizzes.

Lets see how long it will take for everybody to fill in this one:

1) His spine only costs about 5 cents
Nickelback - Nin
2) This band resembles a band of scottish gnats
McFly -Dragonlance
3) My sweet child told me of a band bearing arms and holding flowers - could they be the answer to this clue?
Guns N Roses - Dragonlance
4) Clotted, ice, whipped, double, single or squirty.  The answer to this clue doesn't care
Cream - Dragonlance
5) The primates you will find dancing on the Northern polar icecaps
Arctic Monkeys - Nin
6) These guys gather no moss
The Rolling Stones - Dragonlance
7) They aren't a shallow violet
Deep Purple - Nin
8) Are these rockers alternate or direct?

9) A dark and gloomy Sunday

Some clues have titles of some of their songs, which hopefully will help and some clues may throw up several answers - but I am only looking for ONE answer.

1) "Mother" was the name of one of their soungs
2) They have featured on a Guitar Hero installent.

Nin, on the right line with Amy Winehouse (on the fact she is a popular (in some people's opinions) singer.  However, you'd rather have her as a girlfriend than Amy Winehouse.

Not quite.  Think the effeminate bit refers to the fact the band is male and the word queen appears in the name.  Think back in time. Way back (but they are a modern band).
