Original Post:
I have decided to set up a thread for GAD queries - anything GAD related, whether it be what is the best way to win one, lost claim, bragging about how many you have won (come on pb and Emmie...you are too modest on here :p), or just to praise winners and thank the staff for their awards.

It may save the staff the hassle of having to trawl through the other threads looking for queries (although we now have the option to e-mail them) and possibly the talk of winners talking about GAD wins may encourage others to attempt for them.

Hopefully this thread will take off....and congratulations to all the winners so far!

Hope you get your vouchers sorted Antichris.

The staff are usually pretty good at sorting these things out, so don't worry!

Hi motomoto,
Just to let you know my win still shows as 'unclaimed' but it has been! So you might want to investigate...

perhaps I should claim again?

Wow I'm even better than I thought!

The winners list is supposed to be updated automatically, however sometimes it's not quite as automatic as we would like. It's moto's job to keep that up to date so I will get him to sort it on Monday (He gets the weekend off because it's his birthday or something...).

Anything sent to the old gad address will still go to him and get dealt with as usual.
Hmmm...

Hi ButchML,
I sent my claim to gad@ which was the address shown on Thursday. I notice the Winners List hasn't been updated - can you let me know if you need an email to your new address?

Thanks.

EDIT: Postman has just called with my voucher!
Must be a record! Thanks Freeola :¬)

It's not my job to pick but the more cheats you submit for the newest games are always looked on favourably by moto.

Also the claim address for Gaming Awards has now changed, all claims for these prizes should now be e-mailed to gaming@freeola.co.uk. The old 'gad' address should still work for the time being but not forever!!

How many cheats do you need to submit to be in with a good shot of winning?? I have slacked off cheats for a while, i used to do a few hundered at a time, of new games. Just wondered how they are actually picked.

a brief update on the cheats section. Apparently it might be something to do with my computer which <urinates> me off immensely. As i have to either switch web browsers or mess around until i get it working.

Do any unclaimed ones just get ignored and left or would you ever so lovely and kind people of Freeola be considering to give away an additional few, maybe via competitions or something??

I've been using IE7 and IE8 with little help. I've tried checking for spyware, ccleaner and that came up with nothing. The submit button when you hover over it has the pointing hand but when you press it nothing happens. They don't get processed, nothing. Hell, hovering over the button again doesn't produce the hand as if it was a link.

Although the button doesn't work, i can certainly navigate away from the page using any of the tabs above. In fact every other link works except for the submit buttons which can't be pressed again.

I did one point try pressing the submit button to see if it would do anything in mozilla but that seemed to produce the same results. But that said, i need to make a more decent attempt at submitting a code in mozilla and see what the results are.

I've tried sending one a moment ago (giana sisters) as a test. Has that gone through?

That's odd, me and moto were testing the same way yesterday and wasn't running into any issues.

What happens when you click the submit button? Does your browser appear to be 'working' to get you to the page or does it simply not recognise the click? What browser are you using and have you tried an alternative?

I'm generally just submitting one to see if it does anything. Usually no results.

Works fine for me when submitting one. How many cheats are you submitting at the same time as I believe we had a couple of problems with the submit buttons further down the page.

Delivery time does vary.  I usually just know they are coming and don't get too excited about them.  If I ask for vouchers, I don't actually go to Amazon or Argos until I have them in my hands.  So when they do come it's like a christmas surprise :)

They'll turn up Chris, hold tight

(My first GAD in the days of SR, I won Mercenaries, it took 3 months.   Under freeola, delivery times seem much faster...)

Well my GAD win was almost 28 days ago (26/05/09) and i've still not had any vouchers through the post. It's weird, because my first win came like a week after claiming, CoD4 took about 3 weeks, but this one seems doubtful of arriving :S

The un-written rule is that all prizes are delivered by post. Now if you persuade me, I may sometimes be able to e-mail them instead, but no guarantee I am afraid :(.

Edit: phuzzy,

As it was awarded before I can't see it being too much of an issue. I think people wanted it previously so that they could get GTA: The Lost and Damned.

yep. I believe you can specify whether you want it sent electronically. I do remember one person was having problems getting it by post and instead got it electronically.

I was just wondering, if you've selected amazon or argos vouchers as a GAD prize, they do get sent in the mail, and not electronically? Thanks ;D

Actually i thought i didn't submit any. Every time i hit the submit button nothing seems to happen. No confirmation it just freezes. I can navigate away from the page usingthe tabs on the top of the page, but the form appears to malfunction for me. I have periodically just submit one or 2 to see if anything happens but i seem to get the same result.

So i've spent a few days observing the list to see if anyone has had any luck. Since it didn't update i was under the impression everyone was having the problem.

I'm surprised it went through. I know that the achievements went through and i'm pretty sure i submited each one once. Bah, either i'm extremely cack handed or something isn't working right. But if its only me whos having problems, it may be more the former.

Howdy :D

And you will tell us what? :S

Spoony mate have not had time to go over the cheats as of yet, seems your latest bunch were submitted multiple times too. May be a silly question but you are not getting impatient and clicking over and over are you? >_<
