I have decided to set up a thread for GAD queries - anything GAD related, whether it be what is the best way to win one, lost claim, bragging about how many you have won (come on pb and Emmie...you are too modest on here :p), or just to praise winners and thank the staff for their awards.
It may save the staff the hassle of having to trawl through the other threads looking for queries (although we now have the option to e-mail them) and possibly the talk of winners talking about GAD wins may encourage others to attempt for them.
Hopefully this thread will take off....and congratulations to all the winners so far!

yep, congrats. I'm still writing a few reviews and getting as many things off my chest as possible.
Win a few vouchers for christmas and maybe get myself a copy of ME2 when it comes out.
Just can't wait for MW2 though. Hopefully it'll be good.

Just noticed this,thanks guys !.Been on here a couple of times this afternoon and hadn't noticed.This means my GAD total for 2009 (which is highly unlikely to change) now stands at a mighty 2 ! :D
Seriously,thank you so much (presume Warhunt ?).Had a mega crap week (seriously) but this has well cheered me up.Am I allowed to request Left 4 Dead 2 for the 360 ?,think its out next week ?.If not its the week after,if thats the case can I wait until next week and then request it ? (did any of that actually make sense ? :S).
Right,going to go now before I deliver a blubbering acceptance speech that would make Gwyneth Paltrow cringe !.

Just an odd week this week. The cheats and content was heavy again so I delayed the award until today.

It's whispered in empty halls these days.
GAD stood for Game-a-day which was a competition on SR and then Freeola (which took over from SR). As Freeola grew up it changed the competition to the less exciting but probably more accurate 'Win Free Games'.
But all of the old timers call it GAD still because it's;
a) easier to type
b) gives us a warm fuzzy feeling.
...and yes, once upon a time you could win a game every single day. Ah, the memories! :D

I did hear Warhunt query this yesterday and I heard an answer that, to be honest, we were all expecting :)
As far as I am aware this has now been re-ordered. No doubt Warhunt will jump in here once he turns up this morning.

Having some trouble at the moment. A couple of months back I claimed an Amazon voucher as a win and hadn't bothered to use it until now. Problem is when I do try and enter it, it comes up with a message saying that there is an error with the code. (digits incorrect or other) Wondered if maybe the code I got sent was incorrect or something as I did get it sent via e-mail rather than a letter. I sent the code number to you via e-mail but figured I'd check on here as to what to do too.

I like the idea of thinking of more input but the thread itself is as popular as it's going to be i think. And there are too many factors in monitoring it and awarding a prize (as your post goes through :D). I don't mind awarding a prize for user threads/topics/ideas occasionally but I don't think this is one I can get behind.
Have a lot of work going on at the moment what with the Mahoosive Christmas Quiz designing and assigning the new year moderators etc. so let's just wait for that :D

Guys just had a thought,wonder if Freeola would consider making the 'General Knowledge Quiz' thread a one off GAD challenge ?.It could work a bit like pass the parcel,sometime over say a 2 week period whoever had answered the last question correctly (at a secret pre-determined time/date set by Freeola) would be declared the winner.That way perhaps a few more people would get involved ?.Could always do it instead of one of the Tues/Thurs awards for one week so wouldn't cost Freeola anymore money and might be a bit of fun for a couple of weeks ?.The more questions correctly answered,the longer you would be in the 'lead' and therefore in theory have of a greater chance of winning.But saying that someone could win by answering a single question.Obviously if no one has answered correctly within 24 hrs a new question must be set by the 'leader' rule has to apply,if they do not it could always revert back to the previous person ?.Also anyone setting ridiculously hard questions that no one could possibly know must be made clear that they will be unlikely to win.Just a thought,reckoned it might be a bit of fun ?.

Depends on the format. If its pc i hear they;ve ditched the dedicated servers which is a serious problem. A lot of people and clan based gamers are annoyed by that fact and feel that activision is up to something.
In fact its something all gamers should be concerned about. If you haven't a clue read this:

You have to remember once, the database put me at the top of the cheat submission table with something ridiculous like 989897600 when i'd actually submitted about 20 :P 960 seems like a realistic figure though, so just discount what i've written ;D

I was refering to the latest cheats submitted list on the cheats tab, Generally, thats where i go to see to confirm whether my cheats have been up loaded or not. i'll need to check again when i've got time.
Anyway looking on the latest winners list, it appears that its been updated that on the 20/10/2009 and not 02/10/2009 i made a claim for amazon vouchers.
No huge loss, I'll claim Modern Warfare 2 with my 02/10/2009 win then.
EDIT: Sent email to confirm 02/10/2009 Claim.
EDIT2: Great to see the correction for 02/10/2009, now that makes the email i sent a few minuates ago incorrect. Is it possible to correct my claim to have modern warfare 2 for the pc on 20/10/2009?

strange i haven't seen any of them on the recent cheats list. But 900+? damn.
Still, congrats to him and i'll put the effort to put captial letters on my entries and the such. Incidently i sometimes make deliberate mistakes or specific wording as a fail safe sometimes when i submit.
You know, paranoia.
I'm checking the latest winners list and my claim on 2/10/2009 hasn't been updated (It was vouchers), yeah its just some peace of mind and a sort of confirmation to me that you've recieved my claim.
Now all i have to do is wait till next week and claim Modern Warfare 2 for the pc.
On other news, i need to write some reviews for some anime, but frankly i don't have much clue as to how to go about this. Maybe a retrospective on Cowboy bebop first and then a list of anime i watched in order i suppose.

Well once they get submitted they enter the temp. database. I then log onto the admin system where there is a list of the new cheats that need approving.
I click on the link for the cheat entry one by one. I then get various info, such as who submitted at what time etc.
I have to select the game from our games list (The console type is automatically selected based on which you entered). If the game is new I add it, if not I just select it.
A list of the content is then displayed on the right of the screen, and I check the cheat against this information. (Imagine my joy when someone submits YET ANOTHER GTA cheat......)
Once this is done I check the grammer and spelling of the content and approve/delete. (Grammer and spelling includes capatilising the beginning letter...that means you spoon :P)

People keep submitting more cheats, meaning I have to finish them before I can do a count up of the original 1600 that were submitted. :D
Love it though really.
Still should have the winner up by today. I'm thinking it's Ghost again to be honest but there were so many I wanna be sure.
