Our streets are no longer safe, should we make it ... There are 10 replies

Would you feel safer if, like America and Canada you were able to legally purchase and carry a gun to protect yourself and your family?

Whenever a killing spree happens in America they don't think about gun control. They think about getting rid of gun-free zones, so people can carry guns in shopping centres and schools.

So how about it? Would you feel safer if you could carry a gun as you walked the streets at night? Would you be able to sleep better knowing you had a handgun under your pillow incase someone broke into your house to harm you and your family?

They say gun control doesn't work, that all it does is give the criminals the advantage because the last thing they want is their victims to be armed too.

(I'm just putting this question to you all, not telling you what I think - yet)

Guns might actually solve knife crime, it would mean that everyone carrying a knife could more easily get a gun instead.

Then you'd need some sort of portable assault cannon to beat gun crime, and maybe a nuclear warhead to beat that.

In fact, a great way to solve gun crime would be to wipe out humanity.

If everyone had the Martyrdom perk build into themselves like in COD4, if you die a grenade goes off. If someone stabs you, they will be too close to get away from the explosion.. SPLAT!! a lovely wall and pavement painted in chav.

No we shouldn't make it legal to own guns, it would just make things much worse. It's not that bad it's mainly inner cities where these things happen and its probably no more worse than 5-10 years ago just that the media is using it more in the headlines as they have nothing else to write about.

No. If guns were freely available, the whole gang thing would get even worse.

Amusingly enough, one of the BNP's policies is to allow men who have completed military service to own an assault weapon to bring down crime, or something astonishingly stupid-sounding.

Definately NO.
Go down that route and this country will be totally finished, more so than now.
You would be inviting trouble - 'Guns available to all' as per the 1st ammendment, would create a nightmare - look at the present 'knife crime' statistics - this has grown out of all proportion, mainly due to over exposure and hysteria in the national press, causing those that didn't carry - to carry! Macho man, right OK ha ha :-)
