What General forum doesn't have a General Knowledge quiz, well, now this one does.
In this thread General Knowledge questions will be asked and you, the people, must give answers. After this first question, the winner will be stated here and then will have to give a question; and so on and so forth. Please don't use the internet, cause where's the fun in that.

The author of the question has to tell people who guess whether they are correct or wrong.

Rules
1)If no-one gets the answer within 24 hours of it being posted then the person who set it must ask a new one.
2)If no new question is set within 5 hours someone else will have to set a new question.
3)If you find out the answer on the internet(i.e.Google,Wikipedia) then you can't enter.
4)If you answer a question, you will get a point, providing that you also set a question.
5)No points will be added to the setter's total if no-one answers their question (Because than you could just set a really hard question that no-one would get)

Nice one SC.

Next question:

Boston, Mass is home to four major sporting clubs - Boston Bruins (NHL), New England Patriots (American Football), Boston Red Sox (Baseball) and one other - name the team and their sport.

Or it could be New England Revolution (football-or soccer as they say)

*EDIT* then again, that's not a specific Boston team, it's a  Mass. team. Probably is the Celtics.

It most certainly is - they play in a very fetching green kit - what else :-D They share the same stadium as The Bruins, which in turn is part of North Station - yes, as it sounds - a rail terminus!

Well done Pete, bad luck SC - but not by much:-)

With you sir.....

Thanks pete :D I wasn't completely certain it was a dollar, but i knew it was a ridiculously low amount,  it was part of some deal he had with thingy who did Kill Bill 2.

Anyway, next question.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the most famous composers from the classical period. What is his full baptismal name?

Is that from memory? :P Indeed it is. Alot of people believe Amadeus was actually in his name, when it wasn't at all. Even the film is called Amadeus. Your go Numnut (s) :P

Can i call you Numnuts from now on? It just sounds better :D And it implies your a plural entity :D

Kawasaki celebrated a significant aniversary of one of their motorbike models this year - which bike model and how old is it?

25 years of the Ninja (sounds like some crappy video from the 80's!)

I'm sulking now as they have been out around for quarter of a century and I'm still not allowed one :(

Me neither, they do cost more than our current car though!
Did have a test ride on one earlier in the year tho' and it was like a rocket ship, cruising nicely at 50, thought I'll overtake this car, little bit of throttle in top gear, and 90mph in a couple of seconds and what with the fairing I didn't have a clue  - kept a better eye on the speed after that! I'd be fine on one, don't think my license would though!

Acutally, literally speaking it refered to being ' beside or alongside' the 'normal' olympics but think you got it SC:-)

Notice, Pete got in first:-)

Haha, originally they were named due to the fact the games happened alongside the Olympics; paraplegic is just a coincidence, but i'm sure the majority of people would go for the obvious. And yes, if you want to catch me out, just give me a bike question :P Speaking of 'catching', here's a fishing question (this is a very random question)

According to the FAO (Food and Agricultural Organisation), the fishing industry includes three sectors. The commercial sector, the recreational sector and which other sector?

Hats off to whoever can get this one ;)

Had thought about the 'markets' side of fishing first, but then what about factory-fishing or as I think they call it 'aquaculture'.....but then I would have initially put this within the commercial sector..but no, I'll go with the factory-side of things:-)

PS There is always the scientific side of fishing - you know,  catching things for research etc.

PPS Your 'G K Q score tagline' may have to be verified by Shepps:-)

Is it poaching ! or is it like in China where a 90 year old bloke goes out on a hand built raft and catches a few fish a day for his own (or families) consumption ? :S

If I'm right Chris expect a question about the suspension configuration of a Honda Fireblade ! :D

Lucky for me you're wrong, but you're on the right lines! *nudge nudge, wink wink* Just come up with a name for that type of fishing and you might get it (somebody's probably going to end up googling this, because it's probably the only thing i know about fishing, and it's extremely obscure lol)

I will give it to pete as he pretty much described exactly what it is, but Dragonlance got the exact name. The 3 sectors, according to FAO, are the Commercial Sector, the Recreational Sector and the Traditional Sector.

Only problem is, pete's going to post a question about bikes now
;(

I'd have to go for Sony, seeing as i can only relate Yamaha and Sony to japanese electronics, and i don't think Yamaha would be focused on developing a "then new disc", more likely to be Sony.

Nope, its a company that makes (now very expensive) media not an electronics company.Their initials are the same as a company that is famous for making beanies (toys not the hats).

Yes mate that is the correct answer, well done !.Taiyo Yuden do still make very high quality media.Unfortunately its probably cheaper to buy an original CD/DVD than to use one of their blanks ! :D
