So, it's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine), but you're a survivor.

Forget radiation poisoning or how the end of civiliastion actually occured for a minute, assume the air is breathable etc and there are a small bunch of people to support you.

What would you be able to provide in terms of skills?

What would you need to know to survive?

The scenario has been covered in films and TV series, but I'd like your take on it.

Personally, I'd like to think I could be handy with basic electronics, able to knock up a Solar power supply to keep fridges etc going and plant food to sustain us.

I'd need to learn about crop harvesting properly and possibly basic medical care, hopefully from books that were around.

I'm wondering with the absence of ISPs whether you could get the internet running at all as well, a good method of checking whether other people are still out there.  Short of this I'd look for the nearest radio or TV broadcast station.

I'm a jack of all trades really, resourceful, organised and adaptable. I'm also a bit of a loner though so there's a possibility I'd just hang with you and then club you over the head and steal your food.

I'd like to be a bit better at creating a fire. It's something I could probably do now but I've not got the patience to keep trying for 5 hours. Also water sources would be useful, I know how to find water in the desert but not so much in a forest.
I'm fine with plants and crops, I was a landscaper for 2 years. I'm not so big on killing animals so yeah, find someone who is an steal from them until my veg is grown.
To be honest I wouldn't be horrified with the situation. It'd mean I could find some peace and quiet and simplify my life. I've said before I'd like to find a remote log cabin in the Scandinavian Arctic and live there alone.

I actually enjoy learning about life skills (the real ones not the "life skills" that teachers hark on about). I am adaptable and get along with people easily, and have patience. I think I would probably be ok, although you never know.

In terms of skill I like to think I know enough to be able to sustain myself using the land. Never have done of course but I know about it.  I know for sure I could build a pretty solid structure using trees etc.

Saying that though I would not bother if I couldn have my PS3 :S
