Only time i've been in a 'grade' was when i was in America, never heard it used in English schools

Same here.
Year 10, Year 11 etc.
Grades are purely American.
However, if they are considering reforming the eduction system, have a little peek at Germanys. Sure, crap country, but considering they are in general better educated than us, it's a cunning idea.
That and the 8am-1pm hours.
Blimey, wouldn't that be nice?

So we now start school 3 years before we're born?

i'm not i blame silly british kids who try to act it, and the british system trying to change british ways, for example....the schools now, instead of saying 1st 2nd yr etc....it's now 7th grade 8th grade etc... daft

Can't blame America for that, not like they've got us all in concentration camps forcing us to eat at McDonalds and watch Baseball and whatever.
The only thing that annoys me is when english people try to sing like the Americans with all that warbling on words and what not, they can't do it and i'd wish they'd stop trying
