Still playing Frontlines, but I've pre-ordered Mario Kart and will be on that as much as possible.  The fact that it's kid friendly means I can actually play it when they are around.

Can't wait to play online.

Amazon and GAME are not taking any more orders at the moment.  Better to pre-order Smash Bros for June as this will have the same problem, then find £35 and try to get it elsewhere.  Sendit.com looks like it might still have some.  Good site as well.

Battlefield BC looks great.  Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be on the Beta.  Smash Bros is a must have, though.

Mario Kart is against anyone, by the looks of the UK IGN online write up.

I'm not sure if no voice chat is actually a bad thing. I've played my mates 360 online and we end up turning the chat off as 95% of it is just rubbish.

Yeah, you can two people on one console, both playing online. The most detailed write up I've seen of the online part is over at IGN

I just got an email saying that Mario Kart Wii has been shipped with a Wii Wheel from Shopto, all for £29.99. I'll believe it when I see it. :)

I've heard several reviewers slate it, but I think it'll be a hit anyway.  Extra good that you can control the karts in a variety of ways using different controllers.

GAME told me that they were expecting a busy day Friday...

Yeah, they are generally pretty good.

I still think sendit are your best bet.  I've used both sendit and shopto a lot, in fact I got a game delivered the other day from sendit.com.

The brother in law of a mate of mine works for a distributor and has apparently had his since tuesday evening. The wheel works very well, or so he says, and only takes a couple of races to get used to. All in all it's a top game.

I trust my mate, but have never met the brother in law, so make of that what you will.

Just been playing this, great fun. Typing this on Wii so will be brief. Wheel works well, takes a little getting used to. Still can't powerslide.

Online slick and easy to use. Have to enter friend codes to play specific people. Mine is 3007-8201-1620. Feel free to add me.

Get it as soon as you can, it's great. The wheel really does work well. I haven't tried any other control method yet to be fair, but I don't feel the need to. Some may argue it's a gimmick, and maybe it is, but it's one that works very well once you've done a few races to get used to it.

I've figured out the powerslidey boost thing too. You have to select manual drifting, rather than automatic. Not sure of the best character for online play. You pick the character before the track is choosen, so it's a bit of a lottery. Not really used the bikes yet, want to finish the 50cc cups 100% first before moving up.

The MK channel initially is only available through the game, you have to install it if you want it as a standalone channel on the main screen. You can download ghost data to try and beat, and there will also be competitions in the future, though as of last night there were none available.

Online is very slick and quick to get into a game. Although I imagine that it will be even more busy this weekend than it was last night so it'll be interesting to see if that affects the play.

You can race or do the battle mode online. For each you start with 5000 points. If you do well, you gain points, if you don't, you lose points.

When looking for online games you can choose to search via all games worldwide, games just on your continent or games with people off your friends list. Unfortunately, it's not the friends who are already on your Wii list, but you get another number that you have to swap as well which is game specific.

All in all, it's the first game I've played online with Wii, and it works just as well and is just as lag free as anything I've played on Xbox Live, only without the voice chat. For me, that's not an issue, but it might be for others.

Had a go at this for a couple of hours. Played it safe and went with the Gamecube controller. Did the first 4 50cc Grand Prix and apart from a total brain blockage on Ghost Valley where I couldn't remember the track, I won every other race. I got 2 1 star rank, an A and a C (damn you Ghost Valley). The tracks, I think, have been widened, probably so you can drift comfortably.

I had a few minutes before dinner so I had a quick time trial. I picked Peach Beach since I had played that track to death on Double Dash. I thought I would be adventurous and race the ghost that was available. 1m34 something I think it was.

I pressed the accelerator too early and bogged down on the line. By the end of the first lap, I was 2 seconds behind. Despite my terrible first and 3rd laps, I beat the ghost with a 1m33.9. That is a Rank B time apparently. I had a look at the Worldwide times and I was definitely in the top 3rd of the field.

All going pretty well so far. I'll have to fix my wireless settings as it wasn't working (again) but I'll get it sorted. Where do you find out your code? I couldn't find it, although I didn't actually look. :)
