Got a chance to play this today for around an hour, and first impressions were very good. Graphically it's easily as good as GTA3 on the PS2, but with much better character animation. Controls will take a bit of getting used to, it doesn't work so well with just one analogue stick, but I'm sure I'll get used to it over time. And best of all, Lazlow's back with Chatterbox, although it's called LCFR now.

Have to be honest, it's not a title I'm interested in. San Andreas put me off the series - I've still played hardly any of it.
Glad to hear it works well, though.
I've opted for Pursuit Force instead - something fresh and original.

I like the look of Pursuit Force, but I don't know if I'll bother with it just now. GTA will keep me amused for months so I don't need anything else just now.

If you like to over-simplify things, you could say that.
It's a bit like comparing Halo to Alien Breed 3D, though.

Don't upgrade it, just use the software to fool it into thinking you have 2.0, then you can still emulate...

You cant do that with GTA. It NEEDS 2.0 to run. None of the software version tricker things work.

Im loving it, I didnt think it would work well on the psp and besides the camera its brilliant. The radio stations are typical GTA - amazing, listen to LCFR it had me in stitches listening to the "Electronzone" You can have custom soundtracks if you download some program from the rockstar site, stuff you put on needs to come off a cd though. Not experienced much of the story yet, tended to wander off and do my own thing. My only real complaints are the fact that you can no longer climb, and then I drove my taxi into the sea expecting to get out and swim - i drowned :(

From what I've played, it's very good. It sucjs that you can't swim, but hey, I've learned my lesson now :)
The controls are ever so trickier than normal with the absence of analog stick no.2, but everything else is a faithful recreation of the tried and tested formula. Some of the missions are a little unforgiving of this lack of full control, meaning you often end up spazzing around the street, trying to keep mobs and bomb-loaded trucks away from a casino as well as dodging the cops. LCFR is hilarious :D
This should keep me going for a while.

Only done 3% and played it 1hr 30.

A great game!
Managed to sell one of the cars in the salesman missions then killed the coustomer on the way back to the showroom. WHoops! no bonus there.

Yey! Good ol' Special Reserve. I thought my copy wouldn't be around for ages, what with the problems they are having with the PSP supplier, but it got here this morning.
Now all I need is time to play it...

Just played the first few missions and had a little run around. Very good on first impressions, though had to get used to the control system.
Just transferred over some music too, quite easy and only a tiny download from Rockstar.com.

The radio stations are as fantastic as always.
Bloomin' brilliant.

Xbox Connect fools the PSP in thinking you're connecting via Ad-Hoc.
And yes gr13ve, you still need wi-fi to use it, as it works like a standard wi-fi game
