Okay, Pikmin 3 was mentioned at a Q&A session and it was apparently not ready to show at E3. Might see something in the next few months hopefully.

A decent E3 and decent coverage of the event too. I've made a note of 54 games that I'm interested in over the year and will be keeping an eye on them.

That's my point - most realistic (and obviously non-realistic) racers have damage as an element of the gameplay.
To not have damage in a new GT game would be awful.

I noticed but damage is expected, in my eyes, that I just took it for granted, despite it being a GT trailer.

Doesnt seem to have been widely noticed, but the GT5 trailer has some car damage in too.

Taking me longer than I thought to come up with the rest of my E3 thoughts! So much to say.
At the moment, though the big three in order of good shows are:
Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo.

Considering that Nintendo basically announced a Pikmin 3 at E3 2008 by saying that the Pikmin team was working on a new project, I'm totally disappointed that we didn't hear or see anything on it.
And the Nintendo press conference felt like they were just throwing Mario at us saying 'Hey, we know what people want! More Mario! Mario coming out of your ears!' Although what they showed was good, it just felt totally flat.

Having watched both the Microsoft and Nintendo conferences I have to say I was completely bored by Nintendo's. Microsoft started off by saying we're not here for graphs etc... gamers just want to see games. And they did that. They showed new games (several of which were unannounced before) and a new techonology which does look very impressive. Overall theirs was amazing. Left 4 Dead 2 out of nowhere as well!!
Then Nintendo show up and theirs was pretty poor if I'm honest. Now I'm a Nintendo fan at heart and even I walked away from this extremely disappointed. Sure the New Mario Bros looks like it'll be fun and Galaxy 2 is great news. Metroid I'm sure is great for a lot of you, but to me it wasn't important. Where was Pikmin? It was announced last year and still no word? Why not show Red Steel 2? And Wii Fit Plus?!? Really? Do we really need another?
It was also a joke when they started to show some DS titles that included Women's Murder Club and a fashion game which from what I heard sparked a sarcastic "Wooo" from the crowd. The atmosphere was non existant and they could have been so much more shown. Cammy and Reggie were boring and when he mentioned he's be scouting the forums to see what fans want he then ignores the fact that we want more hardcore Nintendo games and says "You want more third party" Errrr.... no we want you to get back on the gamer train. Enough of casual. Take a break. Remember the fans that stuck by you.
Whatsmore the pulse reader?!? Wow! I knew Nintendo loved their add ons but wow!
There was no real focus on WiiWare or DSiWare other than a few meh games. Those wanting a new Starfox, Kid Icarus etc... won't find it here as it was clear who the focus was on. Casuals. Sadly not even two appearances from the red plumber and a Metroid title that looked impressive but gave no details could save this show. I wanted more!

Initial thoughts from a Ninty fan: Microsoft win E3 2009.
Bit wierd having FFXIV on PS3 as an exclusive MMO, however it makes sense in Japan as Xbox still hasn't captured the nation's hearts yet. But USA and Europe?
Super Mario Bros. Wii = Brilliant!
Super Mario Galaxy 2 = Brilliant!
Mini's March Again = Meh.

Updated after Nintendo conference. Disappointingly, no new Zelda title for Wii or Pikmin 3.

Good summary of titles.
I'm in the middle of putting my own thoughts on Microsofts early conference speech together and hopefully posting Nintendo and Sony's efforts later too.
