I just bought this game, and after hearing how good the first one was I reasoned that the second would be better. I was obviouslt wrong. Its so, compared to all I've heard. The one thing that really annoys me though, is the combo system. Whats the deal with that?
Every time I play I get a D ranking in the style factor, and also in my damage. How do you pull off good combos? If I try and get what I think is fairly good, it just says "come on!". What do you do?
And just to say more about the game, its useless and boring. All you have to do is stand back and shoot your guns, since the have unlimited ammo. Its juat too easy.
Some help, or if not, views?

Why would you "just buy" the second, when DMC3: SE has just come out?
Go now, and buy that game!

I'm a little short on money, and that was 8 euro pre-owned. There wasn't even a pre-owned DMC: 3 there.
And you still haven't answered my question.

The combo system is there for people who can actually use the d-pad and joy-sticks properly, and to good use.
It's not meant to be easy.

For you? Switch it to easy mode and enable easy combos.

Don't do that, its as annoying as hell. Everybody did that in the old freeola forums (not the SR ones) and it pee's me off.
And, that wasn't a question, there isn't an easier mode than normal, and no need to go ape just because some "incompetent little 12 year old wants help" because I'm not.
I'm skilled with the d-pad and joystick, and I can beat my 19, 23 and 25 year old brothers at multiplayer driver, wrestling and tekken games. That game, is just useless.

I believe if you die 3 times you "unlock" easy mode.

OK, but if it's not a question, don't put a question mark at the end of the sentence.
Sorry for "going ape" but I know you're not 12, I belive you're 13 or 14 now.
Most would say that the second game is the worst of the series, but it's not a bad game at all. Just practise with it, once you start getting the A or even S class ranking in style, you'll know why.

Are game sequels like movie sequels then? Not as good as the original?

Pretty much, although I think the third in the series is the best.

Yeah but what kind of combos can you do? It says theres some sort of demo movie, but theres nothing like that. All I see is short clips of dante doing what I do all the time, and these are supposed to be stylish.
I know, maybe if I start getting good combos I'll like it more, but how is the question. Just tell me anything that'll give me more than a "come on!" rating, and I'll be okay.

I'm sure there are hundreds of sites on the net that'll tell you what you need to know. A quick Google search should do the trick.

Tis a difficult bit this, you have to link every single move. By this I mean take all your small moves, and don't let the chain of attack break. If the rest of the monsters are far away then whip out your pistols to continue attacking. Once you're close again, get out your favoured sword and continue.

Disgaea 2, Vandal Hearts 2, FF2 and FF4-7, MVP Baseball 2005 etc debunk that theory :-D

Not really as while FFX-2 was utterly horrid, Disgaea 2 is so freaking awesome it cancels out that abomination all by itself

I did something fairly good in a level there today. There were loads of monster in a small train carriage, and I got a bingo with all my attacks.
I think that I'll buy DMC or DMC 3 sometime though, its better from what I've seen. I saw that you can use guns and sword at the same time in the first one, so it might be better to link attacks.

oo it's that good huh? I told my brother about it but he hasn't seen the first one. Probably came out a year or two ago. It's only on the PS2 right? hmm I ain't going to be playing that for awhile :(
On the subject of DMC, were or have they made a movie of it? Talking of games into movies I still havent seen Silent Hill. It's suppose to be bad unless you're already familiar with the game, in which case it's good :S Never played the game myself but loved watching it and shouting whenever something happened to scare whoever was playing at the time :) Especially when pyramid head comes charging at you. heh I got my brother into a right panic when that happened.
HE'S COMING RIGHT AT YOU!!! RUN, RUN!!

I tried to buy the first one today, I traded in the second, but he said I couldn't buy it....which was a bit stupid since I was trading in a 15's game. I ended up buying theme hospital and splinter cell.:(

I used to like it when I was a likkle boy. The first game I played now I think about it. And I wanted something to put on my brothers laptop so I could play it anywhere.
He won't let me put it on though, no reason at all, he's just a stingy......
Anyway, I got really far in it and then the disc got scratched really bad. And it was cheap to, 4 euro.

I used to like the game too, that along with good old Theme Park. Unfortunately for them, I found Rollercoaster Tycoon.
How I loved that game.

Ah for the simpler times, eh Snake?
You still got a good 2 years of schooling ahead of you? Passes before you know it (heh, I sound like an old man). This reminds me, I find out my results on the 24th... Oh how I will worry on the day :-D

Yeah, on the Higher Tier maths tests, it's something around %30 correct gets you a C grade.
%30? If you can't get that, you must be dyslexic.
